Awesome tip! ...I bought a similar valve at a booth at Oshkosh several years ago ... but after reading the directions ...did not install as it seemed more fuss than it was worth! ...now I use a large heavy duty trash bag to enclose the oil-drain area & catch all the mess that escapes the catch-can! I think that valve you show is really nifty and the locking notch for the closed position is a great idea! ( I'd still probably safety wire the valve handle too!) ...nice find!

why not just siphon the oil out from the top of the oil can ?
