Speaker Biography:
Darpan is neuroscientist and microscopist with a doctorate degree in Biology at HNB Garhwal University and a Master of Science in Biotechnology from DDU Gorakhpur University. Prior to coming to Thermo Fisher Scientific, Darpan was working as Senior Research Scientist at University at Buffalo where she was elucidating role of heparanome modulation in remyelination using pharmacological and animal-based model of focal demyelination. She has over 10 years of research experience in advanced microscopy methods, including high-resolution imaging. She has first-author publications in the Nature Communication, Journal of Neuroscience Cell Report and Molecular microsociology as well as co-authored publications in ACS, Scientific Reports rep, Pathogens, Infection and Immunity and JBC. Darpan has worked with Thermo Fisher Scientific since 2021.In her current role as a member of the technical support team for cellular analysis and EVOS™ cell imaging systems, Darpan helps thousands of researchers a year to develop and optimize their protocols using cell imaging and analysis reagents, kits, and instruments.
Webinar:
Tips and tricks for successful multiplexing IHC
Webinar Abstract:
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a standard technique for scientists and pathologists to detect antigens. Examining one or two markers is a straightforward process but the level of complexity increases as more markers are added in complex samples (e.g., tumor microenvironments). Expanding to include more markers in an IHC experiment, requires in-depth knowledge about sample preparation, fluorescent dyes, and microscopes. This webinar will elucidate how to select markers and fluorophore dyes to a simple IHC experiment or start a larger Spatial Imaging panel. We will discuss how to prevent sample autofluorescence, unspecific antibody labeling, fluorescent bleed-through and spectral overlap.
