Five tips for growing peyote cactus to keep your sacred cactus healthy and looking beautiful. These include choosing a pot, fertilizing, temperature and humidity, and lights. These tips will also work on cactus such as San Pedro and Peruvian Torch.

I’m 44. If I start planting now I might be able to harvest some peyote in time for retirement !!! I wish these grew like dandelions.

The caespitosa varieties grow so insanely fast. 3-10 years, and you'll be walking on jelly sidewalks and planning a cactus club for your retirement hobby, lol. 3 if you over winter with grow lights, 10 if you live in a short growing season climate without over winterizing.

It means you givesl no winter to your cactus. You either grow them all year long under light or bring them in during winter @@AudioStorm1980

Look at Trichocereus cacti, they grow much quicker than Lophophora

Just received my 3" button with several little chicks around the circumference. I temporarily just sat it into my dry, empty spot on the side of the window planter that houses my two surviving basil plants. I am under an LED. The plant is more impressive than I had imagined and is quite hearty and very vigorous! I expect to have no issues with it. If so, down the hatch! Win: win!

Hello, I have a 2-3 year old peyote cactus...i think its roughly this age...it could be a little older... anyway. it flowered last year while i was away for an extended period...on my windowsill during summer. could you tell me from your experience what makes these cactus flower? is it a certain amount of daylight hours like other plants, or after. a successful winter period or other triggers im not thinking of? thanks in advance

Hi Eric. Great video as always. How do you have multiple peyote cactuses all joined together in one pot? Is this through both age and time? My baby Peyote is a single spinless cactus. How do you grow more like the one in your video?

Hello, these peyote are a clustering variety known as Lophophora Williamsii Caespitosa. They naturally multiply in this way. 🙂
