"Go into the game expecting something horrible to happen" This is the best description of Mordheim I've ever heard.

Play to win but expect to lose is such a good advice in wargaming in general, and in Mordheim even more so. Thanks for yet another great video!

The best thing about mordheim is, when you find models inside ruins when clearing the table after a game.
@GetTabledКүн бұрын
Especially when it is a metal model and it clatters to the floor lol

Very good video! I started playing Mordheim when it came out, then after a long break, trying again a few years ago, but for me the rules are too complex. I really love the world of the game, I play it today with my group, but with other rules, simpler and more accessible.
@GetTabled4 күн бұрын
I love the setting and the lore, but yes, the rules are certainly not the most simple to learn. But once you play a lot, you start to learn them by heart. Thanks for watching.

Looking forward to seeing more of these videos. We played our first four scenarios the other day and were surprised at how easy it was to cause a rout. Not sure if we were missing something in the rules or not. My friends Reiklanders caused my undead to rout by just shooting at them as I tried to approach. My vampire was only Ld 8 and I failed first attempt at a rout test every game after my guys got repeatedly pummelled with guns trying to advance. We had a lot of terrain down, but I couldn't always hide. Not the best start D: Loved the warband management elements though.
@GetTabled3 күн бұрын
Yes against Reiklanders it is important not to allow them to shoot at you too many rounds in a row, otherwise they will eventually land some hits. Remember there is the hide rule, which is great for advancing while avoiding enemy fire, even if it slows down the warband a little. As long as you have cover from all enemy models, and you did not run, you can declare yourself hidden, which prevents anyone from shooting at that model. Rout tests can happen quite suddenly once the action unfolds.

I've recently gotten into mordheim because of my friend and I'm loving it. My bretonnian questing knight has been taken out by squirrels twice now. An elf ranger sniped two models then failed to climb down a building and proceeded to knock himself out. Fun times
@chingas93784 күн бұрын
awesome that you play bretonnians, are you using the original version or the bretonnian chapel guard?
@GetTabled4 күн бұрын
Sounds like Mordheim is treated you about as well as one can expect lol. It really is a comedy of errors sometimes.

I don't mind long videos, but keeping a consistent upload schedule is beneficial for your channel growth so I understand 😉Looking forward to part 2! The part about playing to win but expecting to lose is a great point. I probably need to play skaven to be able to keep this mentality 😂 I'd get too invested in my Dwarfs or Middenlanders.
@GetTabled4 күн бұрын
I love my skaven. Having 20 models on the table feels awesome while you are swarming your enemies. Just don't let yourself start taking rout tests before your opponent, because the low leadership of skaven will come to haunt you lol.

Well I have already failed tip #1 a lot. I haven't gotten to play yet, but I have painted eight Warbands, working on the ninth and I have snot goblin terrain on the way. Once it's all ready I will play. Hopefully my friends will be wowed and enjoy it enough to keep playing.
@GetTabled3 күн бұрын
Good luck and I hope you get some games in soon. In my own experience, I had to find players outside of my friend group, since none of my friends play war games.

Hey it’s the bean game! Is your’s in German too? Excellent tips I need to work on tip #1, but I’ve played 5 Parsecs from Home so I’m confident!

I love the bean game! So many arguments with my family lol. My copy is in English, for I am in the United States. Jump into Mordheim as soon as you can! You can try it out solo too and it is still a good time.

thank you for the video :) life is never balanced so more real. things don't happen as they do in movies.

Thanks for watching. This is very true. Some people are born into royalty, while most are not. Why should are games be balanced if life is not?

Hey, thanks for the nice videos and advice. Will try to play a game with random stuff soon ! What is the usual length of a game anyway ?
@GetTabled4 күн бұрын
You are very welcome. Most games are around 2 hours, especially for new players. But with experience and/or luck, you might have games as short as 30-45 minutes.

How did you print your rulebook like that?
@GetTabled4 күн бұрын
I got mine printed at an office supply store about 10 years ago. They usually have a few options for binding. I would recommend getting a spiral bound copy rather than a perfect bound copy like mine. Spiral bound allows the book to lay perfectly flat while it is open, making it easier to read as you play.

Love the game.. working on my “Carnival of Chaos” 😈but it is true.. Games workshop make lovely figures, when you come to play the games.. they can be very boring.. just lots and lots of dice 🙄and not much tactics.
@GetTabled4 күн бұрын
Carnival of Chaos is a fun warband, for sure. I think Mordheim is the best gave GW has ever published. The heavy reliance on luck that comes with a D6-based system is perfect for the setting and tone of the game.
