My mom wanted one of those beautiful ole fashion gowns with the lace trimmed robe. Mom wore the most expensive clothing she ever bought for her funeral. She was buried in a Ralph Lauren Gown and Lace robe from Dillards. She was Beautiful and what a comfort it was to have people tell up how Beautiful she looked in the casket. She was almost glowing.

This is such an interesting story, I have never thought about being buried in a robe. Do you know what kind of dress it was? I'm curious as to how the outfit looked

My mom died almost 8 years ago in May. She died Mother’s Day weekend. She was 22 and turns 30 in heaven this Friday. I lost her and a brother within 24 hours, he never took a breath when born. My other brother died at 9 months old. Anyway, my mother was buried in her pajamas with my baby brother in the crook of her arm. I agree that you shouldn’t bury someone in a suit if they never wore them, etc. my mom loved her pajamas and laying around and that’s what she was buried in after dying oh heart problems. I love your videos. Thank you so much lauren!

I remember years ago, a friend of my dad's who was a farmer, was buried in his overalls and a flannel shirt. He never wore a suit in his life. I thought that was great!

Good video Lauren....my brother wasn't a suit guy....he was buried in a Pittsburgh Steelers Ben rothlisberger jersey.....long sleeve sweatshirt under it went well. Also sweat pants and oversize sneakers that helped the director...it was who he was....we had a few people question it but they were very quickly put in their place.....no suit for me either....thanks😀

@@LittleMissFuneral seems like we are seeing quite a few younger age deceased in our area....50s...early 60s....alot of families now opt for putting them in casual clothes...I like it myself...gives a better memory of them for me....my one friend was a golfer buried in his golf outfit and cap....also believe it or not they buried him with his entire set of golf clubs....that was different... 😀 Thanks again

We chose MIL's special outfit for her last outfit. It was a black skirt, long sleeved blouse and jacket. In complete opposite to this, we decided to have my dad wear his favourite jeans and his sweatshirt from his favourite steam railway, which he had shares in. I didn't get the opportunity to view MIL before the funeral (it was only 2 weeks ago) as we live 80 miles away. I have the faith in the funeral directors though as they had dealt with both my parents and parents in law. When I viewed my dad, (7 years ago now, I had time to view then) it was comforting to see him in his favourite clothes. It made the experience more bearable. I had seen him in that jumper so many times, he just looked like he had dozed off after lunch.

Enjoyed the video. Went to a viewing once, for an elderly lady. They had places a narrow strip of gauze at the collar bone area on both sides. Her dress allowed that to show thru. At the time I didn't understand why, now I do.

Posting in 2020. My dad had always said he wanted to be buried in his Air Force uniform. He had lost a lot of weight, so it still fit him. I had insisted that my siblings do this. That, sadly was the only time they listened to me ☹️

when my mom passed away my dad picked out my moms clothes, her shirt was low cut and she had her arms showing. I saw the emblaming cut on her right side of her chest so I covered it up with the shirt tied the neck with the tie string. With my dad some how my dads glasses were taken home by his girl friend and then lost so my family and the funeral director who knew my dad said he always wore glasses so lets put this pair on him which were gold and his were always silver. im sure my dad was laughing in Heaven. thanks for the video.

My aunt had her finger amputated months before her death. The wound never healed so the funeral home put gloves on her. I found it so weird because she never wore gloves.

My grandfather was buried in overalls and a white Hanes T-shirt. That's all I ever saw him wear my whole life, and my grandmother was adamant that that's what he be buried in. The funeral home wasn't very happy about it, but oh well.
@LittleMissFuneral5 жыл бұрын
Sara Morris maybe they wanted a longer shirt for some of the reasons I stated? I’m sorry if they gave you any problems with your decision, but I am happy that your grandfather was able to be buried in what your grandmother wanted.

@@LittleMissFuneral he died at home suddenly (in the car actually), and was not embalmed. I was 10 when he died so I don't fully know why, but he had a fear of being embalmed. I think most of it had to do with it being a rural, small town with about 1200 people. The funeral home was very traditional and I think it was probably just an odd request to them initially. But it all worked out in the end, and he was buried as he wanted to be. Can't really ask for much more than that.

I went to a viewing recently, and in my opinion, the funeral home, did a bad job... I saw the incision, suture thread on the neck of the descendent.... they thought they had it covered up, with a fake pear necklace...
