Ok, also ask if they have pets & where they're located. If at home, tell them to let the pet in with them while they wait if the pet isn't already with the decedent. If they're not at home, when you make arrangements, set up a time for the pet to see the person. This will give the pet closure because it's harder for the family to later see that pet waiting & looking for that person & they do know because you emit a scent when you die that pets can pick up on & it lets them know that the person is gone. And ask if it's an older house because they may/will probably have more narrow doorways, hallways, stairways, & sharp turns at ends of hallways that the cots may not fit through. Also in Wisconsin, you'll have to get a 'removal permit' from the coroner in certain situations.

Thank you for your tenderness and care during this heartbreaking time. I am a retired NICU Nurse and Labor & Delivery Nurse for over 30 years. I have lost my own babies as well and there is NOTHING that can compare with the pain of losing a baby. Time STOPS forever within a parent's heart, and the Grandparent's loss as well. In my career, I have helped and prayed for "my" babies and their parents more times than I can count. But, I can still see every one of them in my mind and dreams. I remember their little precious faces and tiny little fingers and toes. I consider it a deeply reverent gift and honor to be a part of these precious little angel lives. You might find a CD of soft little lullabye's playing on a portable CD player via battery power comforting. Especially when the silence is deafening. Music can be so soothing if played softly in the background. I would do so, or I would sing to them as I took care of them even after death. I will never forget them, and it helped some of the mommas to know they had some music playing for them while in the funeral home so they " were not alone". We must always try and remember that there are answers we will not know while here on earth, but I believe in a loving God that cuddles and loves all children in heaven until we can be there too, and reunite with our babies. Someday, we will understand why. God Bless you and all those you care for.

No parents should not have to bury a child! It is not right! But god has other plans for his people! I don't understand why god would let this happen to anyone! From ohio

What people may like to see and are in question of the first interview conference with the family, I know that you can not film the people and the interraction. What you might want to do is to get a friend to act like he is the family member and go thru the process of the conference with you asking questions and do what you normally do. Perhaps you could even mock up work on body somehow. I think your videos are great.

The third method would be the best (and only really safe one), to use with a heavy wooden casket, especially an oversized casket or one that is made with a thick base. Other than that, you would need more than two people to move it between church truck and bier, display room ,prep room, to and from funeral coach ,etc. This rose gold casket looks to be an oversized metal casket, possibly 16 gauge sheet metal or even a semi precious metal product such as copper, with elements of a wood casket such as the corner hardware in metal instead of carved or turned wood.

I'm glad I found your video 🌻 I have an interview tomorrow with a funeral home for a pre-need sales position and, while I like the idea of helping people, words like "incentive" started coming up and left me feeling icky, like I should cancel my interview and look for something else, because I don't want to "sell" things to people, I want to provide a service that's going to make a difference. I'm not sure what to expect from this company, as it's not family-owned, but I do think that it's worth a try and that I could be a perfect fit for the position.

You are very emotionally mature. I'm old enough to have worked with many people who could be described as difficult. Some people are plain nasty, or just want to coast along with minimal effort. I can see that in a funeral home that would cause problems.
