Legit question: I’m a master farmer. Which is to say that I know how to do a little of everything but not much of anything. How do you stow your cords?
@Corey-ek9mk2 ай бұрын
@@Jaybird-vy7oh I could show you better than explain. A linesman taught me how to take care of electrical cords. Cables get s wrapped. But small cords make a loop held in one hand next loop twist so the end coming out is behind itself, then one loop like the first (always making sure the cord is not twisted) then one of each loop alternated till the end and then you can lay it down and walk off with one end and it will stay straight and not tangle and I still have a black extension cord 100 ft my grandfather bought in 1940 replaced ends over the years but still working great and no kinks. Hope that helps. Harder to describe than show. 😁

@@Corey-ek9mk You could make a video... But I think what you're saying is: 1) Make the top of a loop first 2) Then going clockwise, come down on the right to make the bottom loop and head up on the left side 3) Then you grab the bottom loop in your right hand and flip it over 180° to your left so the now-diagonal stretch of the wire going Up is underneath the portion on the right that is coming Down 4) Then you start the process at the top again with the top of the loop Is this it? (Left-handers may naturally do the opposite)

I fixed a bed for someone recently and i was walking away from the repair when I realized that no previous experience taught me how. I didn't do the things I did in any previous job. @chasm95572 ай бұрын
What you should do is hold the nail between your index and middle finger with your finger prints facing the hammer. That little bit of extra squishiness will be fine if you can control your hammer. If you really want to keep your hand out of the way, use a pair of needle nose pliers to hold the nail in the exact spot where you want it.

@shannon-8522 ай бұрын
Wrapping the cord up is fine, suspending the weight of the tool from it is not a good idea. You can stretch and break the copper wire inside. Best to make a hook or bracket that holds the tool body.

Wrapping a cord like the angle grinder was wrapped, causes the conductors inside to further spiral over time and thus weaken under strain. They are meant to be onductors, not for carrying weight. It sometimes takes a tradesman years to figure out how to wind a cord to increase its longevity. Because some just don't get it. With the grinder it would be handy to just use blue painters tape as opposed to tie wraps. Loop it in 8" diameter loops then tape. It will last and wont pull free from the strain relief at the butt of the grinder.
