For the best farming XP crop, I'd have to argue that it's not just about what crop gives the most experience, but rather what crop gives the most experience over the whole season. A high XP crop that you can only get a couple harvests out of is not necessarily going to get you the most XP. For year 1 (here I'm looking at what can be bought from Pierre's though there are some crops I'm excluding that you can get year 1, but not necessarily in whatever quantities you wish), the best per-season crop for XP in spring is Kale followed by potatoes then green beans. Cauliflower is actually worse from an xp yield than parsnips, though they do have a higher per-day profit, so still probably worth planting some, so you go into summer with some cash. For summer, the best crop for XP is Hops (and actually better than any other crops, period, excluding Ancient fruit or cacti, which need to be grown indoors to surpass Hops), and hops also produce Pale Ale once you have kegs, so they're also really good for making money. The next closest year 1 crop is hot pepper, which can produce faster returns on investment, but at about a 30% xp reduction. For fall, the best year 1 crop for xp is either Bok Choy or Grapes. Past year 1, if you're rushing farming XP, I'm not sure how much it matters, but Strawberries are best for spring (and aren't even the worst choice year 1, if you can get speed grow from the spring crops bundle and plant them with that the day of the egg festival), and Garlic beats out Kale as well, and for Summer, Hops are still the king, but starfruit and red cabbage beat out hot peppers (for fall Grapes and Bok Choy are still the clear best XP providers). And of course by the time you get the greenhouse and see any benefit from it, a perpetually producing Ancient fruit (or Cactus plant) will outpace all other crops, though you probably won't need that much XP by that point. (this is all not assuming any speed gro, but those don't affect the results much, in terms of which crop is best in a given season; biggest impact is making bok choy go from tied with grapes to fully pulling out ahead, and making Strawberries much more viable year 1)

I got an ancient seend from my seed maker while duplicating cranberries, I think that's my favorite so far. Sells for a lot and it's easy to plant it so one plot comes in every day of the week in the green house.

Definitely plant the ancient seed and use the fruit to make more seeds! Ancient fruit is definitely amazing, just like starfruit :D

@@Fuzzireno I like starfruit because you can just buy it at the dessert shop, along with discounted speed grow (80g out there, Pierre is a scam artist selling it for 150g back in town).

I'm not making the mistake by selling all my strawberries first spring. Got 3 preserve jars in late spring and will get more, so much more money! Hurry is a virtue in this game, but also patience is paying off in the long run. You should make a new playthrough, I would watch it and learn more :) I just found you the other day and you are a pleasure to listen to and watch.
@Fuzzireno
@Fuzzireno 3 жыл бұрын
I highly agree, patience will pay you more in the long run! You can have plenty of farming equipment doing the work whilst you go out and romance or fight in the mines! I plan to stream more playthroughs and to do more challenges which should be fun :D And I'm so glad you've enjoyed the video, I appreciate that! ♥

@@Fuzzireno Start a new one tomorrow or the day after, one show a day! On the original map so we all can see your choices. To say, I have seen the masters play the game, and it's not fun. They use screenshots mods and whatever, just to get to their goal asap. Talking Tooshi, most likely the best in the world, caught 15 catfish on his first rainy day and very casually. It gets stale very fast. If I'm lucky, I get one catfish in spring, haha. I feel better watching a player like you, that I have to tell to stand in the middle of a 3x3 grid to water quicker, even if you are way better at the game. So please start a real game, the KZfaq algorithm led me to you? 0.5 chance!

I wouldn't say I'm a master (or even good) at farming but I get a lot of profit. Though this is because I just plant a lot of crops and water them all by hand because I hord materials and forget to update my watering can
@Fuzzireno
@Fuzzireno 3 жыл бұрын
Making a lot of money from crops is good! There's nothing wrong with that, but you could be making more by utilising the artisan machines and artisan perk at level 10 (if you've gotten this far). Either way, well done :D
