I really like my Titan SurvivorCord. I swapped out the draw strings and pull strings on most things I have with it and use it for shoe laces aside from it's normal uses when camping. I have only relied on using it for starting fires once, but it did work and was nice to have when I unexpectedly needed it. I used the wire to repair eyeglasses that a screw fell out of once as well.

Just stumbled across your channel. Nice video. Quality review. It'd be nice if you went through the uses for each strand in that paracord. (I'm a noob and don't know much ... yet.)

This is for the SurvivorCord XT, there is no metal wire in this one, instead you get the kevlar thread. 12 nylon cords - each one is rated for 47 pounds (21 kg) 1 waxed jute cord - waterproof tinder 1 braided fishing line - 25 pound (11kg) 1 kevlar thread - 110 pound (just shy of 50kg) Sheath - There are 44 strands braided/woven to create the sheath. If needed, you could unbraid/unwind the sheath and use each thread for low tensile requirements. You could use any of these for multiple purposes. If you replace your shoe laces with the cord, you could probably get by with pulling a single strand of the normal cord out and using that as a shoelace, leaving you the rest of the cord for other uses, for sure if you used the kevlar strand. The kevlar strand though can also be used as snare 'wire' or for general use since it is rated for 110 pounds. The fishing line is obviously fishing line, but you could also use it as a thread for general gear/clothing repair. You could pretty much break down most any of the inner threads for clothing repairs though. So, for example... if you have 3 feet of this XT cord (pehaps what's in a single long show lace)... and you break it down into it's inner threads... using those 12 core braids... that's 3 times 12 -> 36 feet worth of fine cordage that can be used to lift 47 pounds (if you don't jerk or otherwise stress it out)... and since 5 gallons of water is about 42 pounds... you could, for example use that 3 foot of cordage to create more than enough fine cord to lift a 5 gallon pail of water out of a creek/water source 36 feet below you... (depending on the pail) and have 3 feet of sheath, 3 feet of kevlar and 3 feet of fishing line STILL available for other uses (re-use that kevlar for a very thin but strong shoelace)... not to mention more than enough tinder to help you get that fire started to help boil that recovered water. To be completely fair though, knots reduce cord strength, with the double fisherman having some of the lowest reduction. Figure your tensile strength falls to 65% when using the double fisherman knot. So, 47 * 0.65 ~= 30.5 pounds. With one gallon of water being about 8.34 pounds, this means you can carefully lift about 3.5 gallons of water instead of that original 5 gallons. These kind of calculations can save your life. Better safe than dead :) so, don't push things to the limits.

@@james0000 That's awesome. Thank you! Lol - let's hope pulling that 5 gal jug up out of the water w the fine cord doesn't cause the Kevlar line to cut my fingers off! 😄

I’m surprised that paracord is 1000 pound tensile strength. when I buy cordage I prefer 750 instead of 550. that Titan cord XL puts my 750 paracord to shame.
