titanium strikers spark hot but do not produce as many sparks and are hard on the stone's edge. You can get flash tinders to go if you can get the spark to land. Good quality high-carbon strikers produce far more sparks though they are cooler than titanium. Ferro rods are completely different and should not be put in the same class as flint and steel strikers.

Try the drag method on the titanium its easier on the edge

@@OdinswolfSurvival I am not a fan of the drag method and IMHO the drag method doesn't work as well as the modified pinch grip glancing strike method. As far as titanium strikers go they require a rougher strike style to make the work to their potential, I've used titanium extensively (and have several including the same Vladimir Zubkov titanium striker you have, as well as 4 Beaverbushcraft titanium and a "U" titanium striker I forged myself)

Does the shape of the flint and fineness of the flints edge affect the spark?

The edge of the flint needs a sharp edge. Ceramic and even glass will work. But a harder stone produces more sparks
