Yeah that method is alright if you have a good sharp stone and steel but if your going to use quarts stone or flint it's hard to make a spark

most stupid invention i have seen in a while. An empty lighter does the same thing. Has the same weight and costs a hundredth. Why didnt they even think about a convient way to change the ferrorod, like the old gasoline lighters?

Its a good product, but mine had issues, the coarse plate on my sharpener lost 75% of the diamonds on the first small 1095 knife. It was a factory defect and i will eventually replace the plate, hopefully it will have a better bond on the diamonds next time.

I have one in the kitchen drawer with other sharpening tools, steel, and leather stropping paddle. It's "ok", but watching your technique, I could do better, especially with the ceramic rod step.

I have a CS Drp Forged Survivalist for about €90,-- Now, I really like the looks of Esee6 a lot, but they cost more than 2 times the price, about €210,-- over here. Sincere question : Is the Esee6 really 2 times 'better'? Stronger? Tougher? Stays sharp longer? Thanks in advance to all responders! Greets from the Netherlands 🇳🇱, TW.

This is a great design. Very simple and because of the length of the seat if you lean forward the front legs become pivot points, which will make it easier to get up for old fat guys like me. If/when I build this I might make the bottoms of the front legs rounded to further take advantage of that.

Excellent video showing step by step how to build it. But it looks awfully heavy, so as he mentioned near the end, I would use 1 inch thick boards, not 2 inch thick. I'd reduce my costs to almost nothing by building it from recycled wood pallets. Then use the saved money to throw a soft cushion on it.

I was all excited to try this thing out the other day and reached up to grab a wood chunk caught in the teeth but ended up smacking my thumb right into the saw, and damn is that thing sharp. It looks like I got slashed with a razor 6 times. Lol. Chewed through the birch tree that I cut up with ease.

I recently got the USGI and compared it to my ORC army issued poncho and it’s not of the same quality as the issued poncho. I will say it’s lighter but doesn’t feel or look as durable. Stitching isn’t as good as the ORC. For the price the ORC seems way better, and I spent lots of time with the issued poncho while in the army so I know it’s worth getting even if it’s slightly more weight and cost.
