Dave - your TK videos are excellent. I like the bitesize approach you take to presenting the material. Have you ever thought about collecting them in a TK course and selling them. I would really like to download these and avoid the distraction of viewing them on youtube! Also - along the same lines - any thought about putting together a book on the TK panel? Or just simply transcribing your videos? and making them available for a fee? It would make searching for something specific much easier! KZfaq does provide a transcript but the time code is a distraction. Anyway - just some thoughts. Hope you keep these coming!

Thank you Doug. I am really starting to dip into the Mask Calculator and My Channels. Tony Kuyper has really helped me to understand their value and it is my great privilege to share the things I am learning from him with all of my viewers. Calculations have always been hard for me to wrap my head around but now they are making so much more sense. My goal is to take concepts that may seem hard and break them apart so that they make sense. The TK Panels are so powerful and there is just so much to them.

Hi Dave, I love the way you explain Photoshop and the TK8 panel. If you are looking for another topic : I would love to see a workflow for exposure blending three images using Tk8 Masking. Starting in Lightroom with linear profiles, basic editing in Lightroom and then opening in Photoshop as smart objects. In Photoshop start with aligning , then blend the three images and then do the final adjustments. Regards, Hans Nieuwenhuis The Netherlands

Hi Dave, another great tutorial. Thanks. Would you get rid of the people on the lakeshore? They would bug me, but I suppose they add scale. I was just curious on your opinion and what tools you would recommend for erasing them. Keep up the good work.

Dear Dave, I like the way how you explain the TK8 panels and I do have a question about the Mask Calculator. Im struggle with the calculator and the option MULTIPLY. Can you explain the MULTIPLY calculation? I dont get the idea/math behind that option. Thx Peter
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly 2 жыл бұрын
I use the Multiply or Intersection all the time. The way I use it is with a selection that I make with Photoshop Selection tools and then I intersect it with a Luminosity Mask. Watch my TK Friday video tomorrow and you will see exactly what I am saying and hopefully it will make sense to you...

Hi Dave Great tutorial. If you have a landscape which has a old broken down cottage in the foreground and the image also has a band of hills and grass etc in the middle. If you want to make a mask of the middle section can you use the mask calculator to Minus {-} the cottage and bottom foreground to create a mask for the middle section. If so how would you do it? I could also send the image to you which may demonstrate this more clearly. How do I send an image to you especially if it is a raw file. Thanks Brian Hartley

Hi Dave! I try to use saved masks from channel as you do. But when I choose let's say the sky from "My Chanel button" I get on the layers just the TK_Mask and not both the TK_Modify + TK_Mask and then all the procedure goe's wrong and when I choose the Color grading I get the message that the active layer is not an appropriate "Color Grading" curves adjustment layer!!! Please tell me where I am wrong! Thanks alot
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly 2 жыл бұрын
After you use My Channels and choose a mask you should see the mask. The next step is to decide how you want to apply that mask. If you want to apply it to the Color Grading tool you can do that by selecting it in the TK8 MultiMask Panel. After you do that you will see a new layer with the Color Grading Tool and the Mask you selected from My Channels Attached to it. However, If you want to add a Color Grading Tool to a layer you need to Click on the Color Grading Tool and you MUST Click the + (PLUS) in the Color Grading Tool to apply it to a New layer. If you want to apply a Saved Channel to it from My Channels you will need to Output by Clicking on the Apply to Layer Icon within the MultiMask Panel.
