Bro Kurt Russel is so based LMAO. Dude crashed a real relic and basically wrote Seagal out of the movie.
@DIDYOUSEETHAT1722 ай бұрын
Yes and NOPE! Kurt didn't get him fired. Director Stuard Baird said the early death of Seagal was always planned to be a shocking moment for audiences, it was 'designed to raise the stakes for the other characters'. This was a time before the whole Me too crap. Studios didn't give a rats A$$ what jerks like Seagal did to women. Or anyone else. If they had he wouldn't have gotten past his first movie. The only controversy was how the character bought it. In the script his head was supposed to explode due to the change in air pressure, Seagal refused to film it that way, as his fans would not like it. So it was re written where he just does a Peter Pan exit, and a wooden dummy was used. Ironically the dummy was the better actor.

Also with the Wayne’s world bit. Queen wasn’t exactly known for letting their songs be used in films. They filmed the scene with bohemian rhapsody, and sent it to Freddie Mercury, who was very I’ll from aids, and very shortly before his death. Apparently he really liked how they all started head banging, so he gave permission for it to be used. Then passed away shortly after. Rip to Freddie

The part about the bookcase falling in Ghostbusters is wrong. That was planned, and if you look at the scene closely you can see the wall behind the bookcase has two small holes that would be behind the top of the bookcase. The two holes were so crew could push two metal rods through the holes, and push the bookcase over. The wall is a fake wall constructed specifically for this scene. Dan Aykroyd even explains the scene during the commentary audio on the DVD of the film.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. That "the shelf just fell" urban myth from Ghostbusters appeared a few years back, and I kept seeing so many comments on that clip here on KZfaq, I decided to backtrack and see where it originated. Turned out, it was from a website that had embedded that very clip in the article. Only problem is, the story goes back NO FURTHER, and in fact directly contradicts multiple iterations of the script for the film. From the time they go downstairs to the time they see the ghostly librarian, the ONLY thing that was ever present in the script was the falling bookshelf moment. It's there in the July, August, September, and October drafts of the script. By contrast, the 'symmetrical book stacking' moment and the 'Venkman get a sample of this' moment were both made up on the day of shooting after director Ivan Reitman decided they needed more beats in between 'it's moving' and 'it's here', as reported on page 28 of the 1985 book Making Ghostbusters, written by Don Shay.

7:05 - this bit is incorrect. Spielberg, unimpressed with the model shark footage, wanted to incorporate some real shark footage into the movie, so he got some from noted shark researchers Valerie and Ron Taylor, and the story was adjusted accordingly. The shark attack you see in the film occurred months, if not years, earlier, rather than during the filming of Jaws itself.
