As a woman, I believe the majority of us feel insecure about our bodies. Even gorgeous, perfect women feel that way. Heartbreaking that the pressures put on women are so heavy. But, it's becoming pressure for men as well, I never knew that.

I wanted something flowy when I went dress shopping. I tried on several beautiful dresses that just didn't give me that feeling. My mom asked me to try on a dress she'd picked. It was more of the princess style. I cried. It was exactly what I'd drawn as a little girl when I drew wedding dresses. It was the dress I walked down the aisle in. Love that dress!!

I understand that the entourage may like another dress better, but ultimately it is the bride's call. If they like the dress that the bride loves, that should be it. If they absolutely hate it, that would be different. But, in the end, it is just one part of a ceremony to celebrate a marriage. If the bride feels like a bride in her pick, she should feel empowered to find her voice.

I've been dress shopping with some brides. It's not about what dress you think looks best on her. It's about what dress makes her smile from ear to ear. Even if you like another dress better if she is excited about a dress don't dump a bucket of water on her (so to speak) just because it's the dress you like.

You do know it's all scripted, I'm sure. There's nothing real about the "reality" shows---every single thing is by the script, with an entire production crew right there telling them what to do, how to do it, what to say, how to react, endlessly blathering and incredibly boring. There's nothing at all "honest" about any of what the viewers see. Also, this particular episode was filmed about ten years ago...

So many lovely memories of dress shopping both when I got married and when my daughter was married. It was like we were 2 peas in a pod in that I put together entire wedding for myself in 6 weeks and she did nearly the same thing. Although my wedding was beautiful I think my daughter’s wedding was even more special. And when she put on the 5th dress, it was so beautiful and so “her”. She did not even require 1 alteration! Her wedding was at the tail end of COVID restrictions and we had some beautiful masks but we were fortunate that she had her wedding in a beautiful outside garden in Nashville. I’m so happy to say I was able to give her the wedding of her dreams. She already got the best part because her husband is a great guy!

@AJ_theVoice 5 ай бұрын
@@isabellest-laurent9549 I agree with this, but I want to clear up the fact that they don’t always show the exact number of dresses that the brides try on in every video. Some videos that show the bride getting their dream dress on the third dress they try on, is actually the 20th dress that they tried on. David might have said that maybe after like the 10th dress? One appointment could go up to 2 hours long, if the brides really found their dressed on the third try the appointment would be over in a flash.

I have never understood why some brides want a princess style ball gown for a destination wedding especially if the destination has a warm to hot climate. Getting it there and back home is one set of problems and wearing it for several hours in searing heat is another.
@catladyfromky4142

Me neither. I can't imagine packing the dress or the nightmare of shipping it overseas without 100% assurances nothing will go wrong. I know princess dresses are more comfortable than really fitted designs, but they are also usually hotter. For me, I would need to consider each dress with respect to those two considerations. It would not be easy with a destination wedding.

That was the old method called "ratting." We did it back in the 1960s. Super easy to do, utter destruction to the hair, and requires a ton of hairspray (or whatever y'all use now. I refuse to ever do that kind of damage to my hair again). She doesn't do her own hair; there's a hairdresser, a makeup "artist," an entire production crew telling all of them what to do, what to say, where to stand, how to react, blah, blah, blah, endlessly boring.

The words “vintage” “glam” and “elegant” are used so much that they have lost their meaning. If brides could describe an era and be more descriptive of the look they want it would make the process easier for everyone. “Art Deco style, like the Great Gatsby” or “Regency style, like Bridgerton” gives a clear picture of the desired effect.

The second twin's dress was MUCH more beautiful or "grand," as she would say, than the first twin's dress was. While it may have been similar in shape, it definitely wasn't similar in any other aspect. The first twin's dress was strapless and fairly plain, in my opinion, and while I typically do prefer strapless dresses, I definitely would have chosen the second twin's dress if I had only those 2 options. In my opinion, I feel like all wedding gowns should have some bling. The sparkle is what really makes them stand out and look extra special.
