There is a new meta breaker in down and it comes in the form of Brood. Moyen HS created and piloted this deck during the twitch rivals competition and since then it has started taking over the conquest and ranked ladder. This decks can pump power in so many ways and even if a lane is locked in or capped out there are multiple ways to get additional power there throughout the rest of the game. Even if you don't have Iron Lad or Legion this is definitely a deck that you need to know about as it will be all over the place very very soon.

I played this a bit yesterday. Seemed fun. Eventually I lots of Enchantress/Rogue that would steal my Patriot/Blue Marvel. Perfect example of trying out a fun deck only for it to be canceled out immediately.

I played this deck *A LOT* yesterday, and it was amazing. I only had two losses, one to a mirror. The other was to a Shuri Taskmaster, which I think is the only deck in the entire game that is favored against it. If you tech in Shang, I think this deck is favored. For people like me without Iron Lad, I put in Nakia, and she was great. Honestly though, this deck might work with Dazzler as well if you are feeling cheeky.

this is a really cool deck. I'm not sure how impactful legion and armor are in this deck as you won many of your games without playing them; would you recommend any other tech cards that compliment iron lad? On a side note, i love the flexibility of patriot, surfer, and blue marvel to boost an already packed lanes (tried a similar version of the deck during the initial OTA and kept struggling due to the rigidness of the packed lanes but hopefully with the new ongoing additions I can gain more success). Thanks for sharing and explaining how the deck is run. EDIT: I'm really happy i found this channel, really improves my deck making skills by implementing key concepts revolving around synergy and tech

won quite a few tickets with this deck, i also found various success with cards like jeff / spiderham in that flex 2 spot. but with the amount of destory, i really like the armor the best. furthermore, if u cut chavez, the best inclusion there is ironman. def no mystique. this deck is so good at consistently putting a good amount of points on the board across 3 lanes, but sometimes u need to go a bit more vertical, and thats what the iron man is there for in that 2nd build

Legion often was the odd man out in most of my games. Rogue/Cosmo/Dazzler felt like they fit the curve better. Legion was rarely disruptive, while Rogue/Cosmo were often disruptive. Mirror match Rogue rules the day.

Debrii seems like a good option as a bridge between surfer and patriot, though I guess it makes you vulnerable to Killmonger.

I thought about that too, but I think the issue is that you already have so much space used by the broodlings/clones that chucking rocks over your board probably does you more harm than good. Plus all the destroy decks are around at the moment anyway and it's just Carnage/Death food. Would be interesting to try, but maybe during a different meta, though.

I’ve been running a similar deck, but it has iron man, misty knight, mystique, juggernaut (personal choice since i don’t have iron lad), cyclops and debrii instead of abs man, iron lad (don’t have), legion (don’t have), armor, blue marvel, and chavez. I think forge needs to become a 2-2 and go back to +2 power

I played this deck yesterday, 8/24, after seeing it do well in Rivals. It got me from 95 to Infinite pretty easily. The armor was good for all the destroy that was on ladder at the time.

I was running a cop deck (all counters like enchantress, shang, etc) last night and kept hitting this deck. It's hard to beat. Even Enchantress isn't enough if they play smart and spread all the ongoings out in different lanes. It's a hard deck to stop.

This deck can't compete with turn 7 combo deck. One of the reason legion in this deck. Space also limited if brood and absorb in play.

It‘s a pretty strong deck for sure but IMHO gets boring really fast. Gonna stick with silky smoove as long as it still does well as It’s just way too much fun on ladder. Conquest is gonna be a Daken/X-23 shitfest anyway over the next few days due to those stupid weekend missions. :D

Patriot surfer was a thing in the past but often wasn't able to keep pace after surfer was nerfed. A few recent changes and card additions have made this one come back with a vengeance!

I ran a hybrid for daken, but wasn't able to make it consistent enough. When I was able to pull of a good play it felt good, but most of the time I was stuck waiting for better draws. I think it's playable for sure though depending on how you balance the archetypes!

I wouldnt call this a meta breaker considering the forge change more or less met the same timeline along side daken and x23. Discard, destroy, and this "meta breaker" are the most common decks right now. Meta breaker decks are decks that disrupt these 3 popular decks. Like wave, spiderman, steg, armour, cosmo, sheng, and scarlett/storm/legion.

This list can't be optimal with only Broodlings and patriot as surfer targets, if you don't draw brood or hit it with lad surfer is basically a dead card in the list...

Sorry I didn't explain it more. On Twitter he said he normally uses armor as it's just a flex spot but brought scarlet which as he expected one of the opponents would be running a Magik deck.

Put in Nakia. It's really great to have a good turn 3 and she gets a lot of value because you fill the board most games. She also gets buffed by surfer. You can also consider teching in Shang.

"meta breaker" click bait is gretting old TLSG. This is a pretty standard surfer/pat deck, it's not a meta breaker.

So rude for no reason. It's a standard surfer patriot? My guy this deck was not ran at all before twitch rivals. It's quite literally a meta breaker because it won the tournament by oppressing the meta. I've been playing for at least 5 months now and I have never seen a patriot surfer deck myself before the forge change..

The other meta breaker was mine and at the time beat everything in the meta. This one is much different then the old surf/patriot decks and focuses mainly on getting bodies on the board and loosely on the buffs to make it hard for the opponent to read your power potential. This is sitting at one of the highest wr decks in conquest this morning and was nowhere before twitch rivals. It might not be a meta breaker once the meta shifts and adjusts to this, but for its introduction it did break apart the established meta that was in place

If I remember correctly the standard surfer patriot ran a lot less on brood abs man and had more cards like cyclops teched in. Even if this was the old standard it is breaking apart the meta that was establishing with silk kraven so old or new it's a meta breaker for right now. As with all it will reach equilibrium, but for awhile it's in a very strong spot

@@TLSGMarvelSnap It's more that labeling every deck a "meta breaker" means the term is useless to describe anything. The term on your channel has mostly been used as a control deck arch type running set counters to the current meta. This isn't the same style of deck so it looks click baity. This looks like a fun deck but it's not really breaking the destroy spam we're seeing, or the rise of ongoing decks. A meta breaker would be answering those styles of play.
