The “I used to be a server so I know how you feel” customers are the downright WORST people to interact with. They always feel like they need to remind you that they “get it”. I do not need to be reminded that my job is difficult and I can do better while I’m currently on the clock at that job. In my head I’m j thinking “you ain’t special tf?”

Man, is it really that bad? Listen, I did a decade plus of retail. I don't wanna be dramatic, but there were plenty of traumatic experiences. Saying , "I get it." when interacting with a retail worker, for me, is really just... basic empathy? It's part of a general treatment package I roll out where I try to treat retail workers with the utmost patience, because I know what it's like. Very simple. Like, me telling you I get it is basically going to mean "Do not go out of your way for me." I'm not gonna make a thing out of it. It's me saying, "It's chill, no worries." I make it a point to try and be everyone's easiest customer. I've probably told you I get it as some hang up has occured and I am only reassuring you, I'm not going to make it harder for you. It's a shame people lie and use camaraderie to try to manipulate. But I can say personally that on my worst days in retail, little moments where somebody made me feel less alone in what I was going through meant EVERYTHING. So now, I try to return the favor. That's why I personally say things like that to people who are where I was, when they're having a hard time. Because someone did that for me and it meant something

That really didn't sound that wild noel lmao. It sounded like noel just didn't like the couple because of their voices. Like if you repeat what noel said but in a normal voice in your head, that was just a normal conversation discussing that the service industry sucks...
