THESE LEGENDS HAVE HAD TREMENDOUS SACRIFICES TO DO WHAT THEY HAVE DONE !!! VERY VERY RESPECTFUL PEOPLE IN THE SOUTH AND YOU CAN EASILY TALK WITH , THE LADIES ARE SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SOUTHERN BELLES IN THE WORLD !!! ALL OF THEM CLASS ACTS IN THEIR OWN WAYS , MAY GOD REST THEIR SOULS TO THE LIVING AND THE ONES THAT HAVE PASSED ON !!!!

This generation of drivers were at the end of their careers when i started following NASCAR as a kid. I would try in my mind to imagine what they looked like as most of the race's I'd hear on my porch with my family and friends on our RADIO

I rode Lake Norman in the early 90s and loved it and definitely remember those speed boats. My uncle had one that would go 65 mph. I love this. RIP Buddy.

I’ve come to really love Buddy Baker after re-engaging with “Winston Cup” or Grand National racing the past year, given how many races are available here on YT. The drivers in these golden years were all such characters and each seemed to have hundreds of stories about stock car drivers and races. Waltrip always had something to say, but even guys who were a little more reserved, like Baker or Pearson, were so funny and so charismatic.

He only raced full time a couple seasons and still was one of the faster guys out there. He was the Dale Earnhardt of superspeedways before Dale mastered it.

Very entertaining to watch race and I really enjoyed his broadcasting career on TNN. As in "Earnhardts got a rocket ship today" 🚀 😉

One of the legends for sure

I recall seeing pictures of Buddy after his victory at Charlotte in the Fall of 1967. What impressed me about him was with his looks and physical stature, he had the makings of being a movie cowboy Western star in the mold of Randolph Scott. If Baker had the talent and passion to have been a movie actor, and if Hollywood had a proclivity with producing movie westerns in the mid-to-late 1960s into the '70s, I could see where Baker could have been a movie western acting star in a string of 19th century western films.

Buddy was always one of my favorites

He is a really funny guy even though he looks uncomfortable doing this interview. My observation anyway.
