That woman clearly had really angered the gods and ancestors if she got busted as quickly as she was, but what did she really expect to happen if she did something so stupid as something like that would be found out much sooner. The fact the Empress's son died shows that the curse sadly was effective to some extant, so using witchcraft to cause harm to others and to place a curse on someone is very serious. Whatever curse is used or placed on someone or something it will rebound onto it's casters, even more so if the curse is broken somehow. Consort Ling's mother is hands down one of the worst liars that I have ever seen in a very long time, but honestly I wouldn't put it past anyone to try doing this in this day and age. Truly a shameful, selfish, dishonorable, wicked and stupid act.
