Fenris say to Anders that Bethany is pretty much the only decent mage he never meet. And Meredith say pretty much the same... in Act 3... with that red lyrium idol messing with her head, fueling her anti-mage paranoia.

It is a testament to carver, I love playing a mage, origins and Inquisition I played one, 2 I was a rogue for the sole and extraordinarily satisfying reason of carver dies. Bethany is nice and friendly, A chat with carver is like taking sand paper to your ears and genitals at the same time.

@Colonel_Overkill Well it's a testament to the character who feels overshadowed by their older sibling.I like both, It's a bit better with humorous femHawke because it makes the relationship a bit more adorable. Also hawke being a sarcastic dashing rogue overshadowed by a pretty women in his family is a good balance for his behavior.

Colonel Overkill Carver’s character development is on point though if you make him a Warden. Carver at the start of the game to Warden Carver at the end (especially with Legacy) is night and day

My two friends who loved merrill and didnt know carver could become a warden and told them hope they enjoyed his new attitude .

Carver is happier as a Warden, Bethany is Happier as a Circle Mage

I think with Bethany it's also partially that she never felt the need to prove herself like Carver did. They both blame Hawke if they wind up in the Wardens, but Bethany takes longer to realize just how much good she can do with them.

Also, Bethany seems to thrive in the Circle.

Merrill really loves pulling that dry humor out (even though it usually goes over people's heads). I still remember her talking to Master Ilen about how "great" the Alienage was, and ticking him off. :P

well i wouldnt say that it has more soul than dragon age origins as that is heavily debatable with in my opinion farin more in favor of origins but dragon age 2 is a damn good game in my opinion.

that the environs are repetitive is a valid critisism, but to dismiss the game based on that is stupid. The game is a damn good experience. you actually follow a person throughout a good portion of their lives. you see hawke as a refugee, a noble and then hero. you actually put in the work needed to get where you are in society in the game. most games just hurtle you straight to hero without much work or just by chance. there is also a good amount of variety since quests unlock based on your previous decisions. there is also a large time-gap that allows for more variety and time that makes sense. in other games if you go back to starter areas ppl would start treating you like shit again, even though you saved their lands or some shit. i enjoy playing origins and DA2 both.

i actually think that's the excuse they use for recycling maps. Think about it, the game is the story Varric is telling, and he just said all the caves look the same to him, so of course they will sound the same when he tells the story of Hawke.
