I have no idea how I lived without You Tube for so long. I took mine apart for no apparent reason and have been baffled all day as to how it goes back on. Thank you lol

11 years later, this video has ended the frustration of threading the shockmout of my TLM 49.

it blows my mind that all those smart engineers at neumann didn't see any problems with this disaster of a shock mount

Great video. When I got mine the mic was sitting crooked in the mount. It was a pain to straighten. Now if I need I can just do it from scratch! Thanks!

Great video ; Thanks ! Obvious to some folks... but: first remove mic from everything and move aside for safety! Mine is a TLM 103 fairlt recent i think.... the band has a metal end clamp thingy - it fits into a hole on one of the 4 posts - best to start with that one...same with the 4 post connections after flipping it.

Do you happen to know the size of the screw adapter? I need to replace mine and can't find the info anywhere. Thanks!

This is seems wrong but i do not know if they did it because of the weight of the microphone (TLM49 has double weight than the other two) Both TLM 103 and TLM 147 are using the same shock mount and the lower band passes from the same middle rings like the upper band

I have the TLM 49 and the shockmount sucks! I can't use my mic as overhead because when I tilt it, the threads goes out.... Terrible mistake for a brand like Neumann... so dissapointing

I have seen similar problem with horizontally mounted microphones with rubber band designed mic holders before, especially with old or wrong rubber bands. The only solution i have found is the USM from Rycote. I don’t know if they work with TLM 49 but I assume that USM-VB-L could do the trick..?? mymic.rycote.com/products/shock-mounts-suspension/invision-studio/invision-usm-vb-l/
