I guess it's not a terrible deal if you are just wanting something different that works, you could for sure build this system at a little over half that cost though. I have seen a couple 1080's local for $80 - $120 and you could even get 8th/9th gen for the remaining difference if you shop around. The storage upgrades make it seem great, but that quadcore is making that $400 price tag a bit of a stinker performance wise. That's pretty close to a Ryzen 5/ RX 5-6XXX on the used market.

I love you guys but you should really stop reviewing computers that can’t run Windows 11. You’re suggesting people buy something that will be mostly obsolete in 15 months. Sends the wrong message for people who don’t know any better. Keep doing what you’re doing. I just got an Optiplex with i5-8500 and threw in a 1050ti all in for under $200 because of your channel.

They should probably stop benchmarking with Fortnight. Most GPU's can hit high fps in Fortnight. The new Ryzen 780M integrated GPU's can hit 100 fps on low settings with 1/2 the power of the 1080.

bought this pc myself i did have to re add some thermal paste but its very much worth it if you try to make this pc yourself (custom) it will cost around 600 of 500 USD dollars

I would see if there are bios mods for the motherboard to support like a QTJ1 or QTJ2 off of ebay, for like 70 bucks you can get an 8 core that would really pick up the performance of this system (and theyre laptop based cpus so the power consumption shouldnt be TOO bad)

Please take one of these MSI PCs or an Acer predator or HP acid green and try upgrade it... Optiplex builds are fine but they always have the same issues of proprietary. I understand that those videos are mainly for first time viewers looking for info and not for all the subscribers but it could prove challenging and also interesting to upgrade this system to a 4060 or something like that .I think these funky case designs like cougar still have a place in the market

A great way to improve thermals would be to install a 7700T. 12:40 The proper way to make these stutters go away is to lower settings and set a framerate cap. The CPU is the issue here. A 60FPS cap here would probably not stutter at all, even with the same settings. You're just asking a little too much from the CPU. The 7700 is scarcely more powerful than a 4790K. All running unlocked does is give you inconsistent frame pacing which is far worse than just running at 60fps with consistent frame pacing. High framerates are overrated.

For an ultra proprietary, many gens old, dirty and dried up PC, 400$ does NOT sound like a good deal at all. I would knock off at least 100-150$ from that, with changing thermal paste and cleaning, for it to be a decent deal.
