Hey Rod sorry for replying so late. I have never used Iodine Coats before, but I did a little research on it since you asked. It seems like they use this to help with colour, to help coral grow and to kill negative bacteria in salt water tanks. You can have a look at this video for some info kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rNuErZqqzsW2qqc.html . For now I would say do some more research on it before you use it in Aquaponics. Ow, lol. Well as far as I can see, iodine is used in salt water aquariums as a good thing. So I guess you can try to wash out tote at first. I use soap powder, like what you may use to wash clothes. Then rinse properly. Then when you set up your tank, put no more than two fish for a week. Once they live happily, go right ahead. 👍🏾
