Wayman was a four time all American at Oklahoma and an NBA all star. After retiring from the NBA he became a Grammy winning jazz guitarist. He and TK were friends because of their love for Oklahoma and music.

This has been my favorite Toby Keith song since it first came out. It was at a time when I was experiencing several family losses and it spoke to me so deeply and still does. I'm also an Okie and a OU Alumni so of course, knew of Wayman. They will both always be remembered as two of the most humble and kind Oklahoma legends ever. ❤️

Wayman had the biggest & brightest smile I have ever seen. He was a hell of a person also and very sad what happened to him. As irony would have it if you don't know, Toby is struggling with stomach cancer for the last year and it's been really tough on him the treatments. Yes cancer is an equal opportunity killer.

I'm so so sorry for your loss of your dad. It's really hard I know it was horrible for me when my dad passed. Now I think about him and smile remembering all the memories we shared together. 2+ years ago I should have been a casualty when I hit a tree at 65mph. 1 year ago I was told by my dr. that I might have a week. The good lord said, "not yet". Yes, TK through this so is showing me how to die. Hope I can be this strong.

My own Mom had just turned 58 when it took her; we’d known for all of 17wks she was sick. BLESS YOU for your constant reminders to your subs & others to take those phone calls, make those phone calls, spend the time, etc. Such sage advice from a young man!!! I’d add- Get in the kitchen w your parents & grandparents! So much of what my Mom made she made by memory. A pinch of this, a shake of that... I make a point now when my (adult) son is visiting these days to get him in the kitchen once or twice, show him how I make or prep this or that. Speaking of cancer patients, Toby has been fighting stomach cancer for a little over a year now. My dad fought colon cancer for 16.5 years. He had been given 3 months to live. Me in December I will be 5 years cancer free. My one regret is my phone got damaged and while trying to get it repaired they erased my dad's last voicemail. That hurt almost as much as losing him in the first place.

Just found this channel made me cry brother God is good even though we don’t deserve it I know about losing parents I had loveable parents mom and dad taught me about God and also taught me about the belt right from wrong and they had no problems if you did something wrong, you got the belt I thank God for that I thank God for that and made me a better person and always trust God for everything I feel God so many times but I know he loves me and I do love him when these days we’ll see our brothers and sisters mom and dad all in heaven if we keep our eyes upon God, he’s coming soon That’s what makes us strong, knowing the promise that he gave us love one another with all your heart don’t put hate in your heart just love one another pray for one another there’s only two rules I go by I go by God rules and the constitution of United States that’s only law that I go by Because God created it, God created to have an earth and give us the peace and joy without God we’re all lost sad part is through the years. Man, it made me very sad to see Toby in that state. He's very very skinny right now, because of the stomach cancer he has. He could really use some prayers.
