This is the advice I gave my son who asked me why his father was not in his life First, there is nothing wrong with you. It is nothing you have done. Your father loves differently from other people Your father understands love differently from other people You and I feel and express love differently than him I know it may hurt but find grace with your father because he has his own demons and copes with life differently than you and me. You don't have to like your father let alone love him. Simply be understanding, that your father is him and you are you I hugged him and reminded him to forgive his father because forgiveness is for yourself to release the person who may have hurt you and holds no power over achieving personal happiness. As an adopted child, family is not always blood-related but those you implicitly trust within your inner circle. If you have other parental-like people you admire, then embrace them as your "parent". I turned to an elder cousin as my "grandfather" because he gave me a lot of life practical lessons. In the end, only you can give you your value worth. Parents are to help guide us to find it, but if a parent(s) is not there and you succeeded on your own, then you are not "wrong" but extraordinary. Much care to you and into the universe

One is born without the desire and if that is how they are and are happy about it, that person doesn't need to be fixed. Kelly didn't know until she married. Having an ugly divorce about it isn't fair.

First and foremost Rick, I am so very sorry for the loss of your dad. I know how heartbreaking that is for sure. After hearing the song "Piece by Piece" years ago I was in tears. But when I found out that Kelly wrote that about her own mom it just tore my heart out. I just don't know how she could sing it and ever get through the whole thing. Im grateful you let yourself cry. Too many people were raised or came to believe that crying is a sign of weakness, but its just our bodies' way of releasing chemicals/compounds we get overwhelmed by (feelings). If you look at tears under a microscope, the structure is different based on the reason for the tear, like onion crying is different than grief crying, happy crying, regret or remorse, etc. It helps us process and move past difficult or uncomfortable feelings. On may 24th my mom passed away! She had dementia and other medical problems! I'm sitting here thinking I feel the pain of her passing on! I love that GOD blessed her to stop her pain! But that song made me think! I always went to her in emergency situations and she would give me money no matter my age! I had to trick her to pay her back! With groceries or with roses on mother's day not telling her my plans! She let me feel her love in many ways over 1500 miles apart! Please remember to cherish each day!

Anyone who can watch that and not be touched... My heart still aches when I think back to sitting with my granddaughters, ages 6 & 4. Listening to them cry because they knew mom leaving was because they were bad. The 4 y/o told me that she will be a good girl, that it is all her fault. My wife and I reassured them over and over that mom and dad loved them, that they are good girls. Fortunately, although in a broken home, they, now in their early 20's, survived and have done well.

Even if u can't relate to this song, u can feel the pain, the emotion in her voice and that's what makes u cry. But for those of us that can relate, for those of us who can say this song hits home, and more, I'm sorry, no child should go thru any form of abuse and u will get thru this. If u know anyone going thru abuse, speak up, speak out, abused kids think that it's the norm, their spirits are broken down, their self esteem is shattered, these kids need help they are NOT INVISIBLE

I just found you on your James blunt monsters video! First I want to say I am so very sorry for the loss of your dad. It’s definitely a struggle. I lost my dad when I was 21, my mom when I was 38, and have lost 4 brothers and a nephew and many friends. I’m 61 now, and the baby of 9 children. You are such an amazing man with a heart of gold. I feel this is very therapeutic for you. I use to go out and find the brightest star in the sky and talk to my mom. It helped but I can tell you from experience that it takes time, so grieve any way that helps You!! Do what you feel and feel what you do!! The memories no one can take away from you… and I know your dad is soooo very proud of you!! He’s in your heart and by your side everyday! You don’t need to apologize for grieving honey. It will take some time to heal… so let it out. Take care! I subscribed to your channel and I’ll be back to see how you’re doing.
