As long as you do your oil changes on time and use synthetic oil, you wouldn’t need to use any of these additives. Modern synthetic oil has detergents to clean out the old oil. Using engine flushes like the one in the video is fine if you’ve neglected your car for a while or if you’re buying a car with an unknown service history. Just make sure to not use it on a high milage car with unknown service history. Because if they haven’t changed the oil in a long time, there is probably going to be a lot of gunk and sludge build up inside. And if you do loosen the sludge with a chemical engine flush, they’ll probably clog up something in the engine like an oil pump screen for example. The safest way to flush an engine is to dump your old oil and filter and replace them with a new cheap synthetic oil and filter. Drive for 500 miles and then dump the oil and filter. Repeat the process 2 more times. On your third and last time, use a high quality synthetic oil and filter. Yes this method might be slightly expensive than using a Liqui moly engine flush, but it depends on how much you value your car. If you care for your car and want it in the best condition, use the safe method. If you dont want to spend much on it and are willing to take the risk, use the liqui moly engine flush.
@Quis855 ай бұрын
You would be correct but the wrong brand this applies to. L.M. is designed to do what the others don't do. Which is liquefy the slug so you won't clog up anything. I had that same question. The other flushes don't liquefy the stuck-on or slugged-up oil. So yes you will clog something. Those other brands lose it but don't dissolve it. But L.M. turns it into liquid so you can drain it. Some people depending on how bad it is. They flush it three or more times with the cheapest oil before putting in the good stuff.
@MaybeImJustAsian5 ай бұрын
There’s pros and cons to doing it the long way like you stated. This additive is designed to do do what it does and does it very effectively for $15 instead of spending money on multiple oil changes
@Quis855 ай бұрын
@MaybeImJustAsian I don't know if this is from what I said or not but if it is let me correct myself. When I said multiple changing oil with cheap stuff. Some people do that to drain out the access L.M cleaner. Maybe you thought I meant using L.M. multiple times. If that is the case then I APOLOGIZE that was not what I meant lol. Nevertheless, the creator put up a KZfaq video and he says there's no need for a follow-up flush using new oil. One flush drain and put fresh oil in and you're good. OF course, after we regular people see all the dirty oil we naturally feel like we need to drain it a couple more times before putting in the good stuff. I believe that's where the multiple changes come from. There are videos of people doing this and seeing the oil is still dirty after the second change. So they do one last cheap oil change before using there regular chosen oil.

@kentaylor5571 They give that recommendation as a general rule. Some Additives use a formula that's not as seal friendly as others and some might not be strong enough to hold all the deposits in suspension therefore risking it loosening some larger pieces but just move them instead of removing them. LM has built a business heading for 1B in sales & its a good way to measure success. If their products destroyed engines (like some forums would suggest these flushes do) then F1, Moto 2 Moto 3, DTM & other sports events wouldn't want LM near their events.
