Who were the Rustic Chatterwits? This radio program from 1934 does not appear in the Radio Goldindex. I have also been unable to locate the program in any early radio listings. Have a listen to a long lost radio show and let me know if you have any information about the program or the performers.

I have a plethora of radio transcriptions. Love collecting these...pieces of a bygone era. This may in fact be a demo disc - if there's no mention of a sponsor, then there's a real good chance of this, which means it's very likely that it never made it to air.

I have some of his 78's. I don't have much, if any, of his radio transcription appearances. His final American 78 with his daughter is a good one. Beyond that, I would say his version of "Man From Harlem" and his later recording of "Nain Nain" would be my favorites.

Do you have any dance bands on World Program Service, Standard Program Library, or Associated/Muzak ETs from the '30s or '40s?

@@RecordCollector96 Most of my findings have been mid to late 40's through late 60s, I'd have to look. I'll keep you posted on that!

Both voices are very familiar, but it may just be the style of delivery from that era. FWIW, sounds like Whispering Jack Smith and the wicked witch from the Wizard of Oz.

I used to dig for discs exclusively at sales, antique stores, junk shops, etc. In recent years I have started purchasing select items in auctions and from dealers that I trust. This is mainly true for things that I have been unable to locate in the wild after 30+ years of digging.

I have no idea who who Rustic Chatterwitz were, but depending how aired maybe just a place holder name, used if the rather frisky routine was assembled into a show. /that is/a recorded act dropped in as part of shoa Rather than as completed show. In that case may have aired as (say) Alice and Bob. Another station may have used Mr. + Mrs. Loudmouth. In early days of Victor they had few artists and so semiclassic singer DeGogosa had lots of fake names, like Senior Fransisco added by Victor 9:05 😮 9:05 9:05 😊 to simulator having lots of singers. Later relabeled with his real name, as told in book THE FABULUS PH0Ñ0GRAPH and real name labeled in later copies. But if sorry we're not known collectors would research fake names in vain. In early radio sometime studio musicians would solo with fake names, like staff violinist playing square dance violin as "Rustic Joe" one week and as "Gypsy Lugosi" another.

This recording reminds me a lot of Frances Langford, Don Ameche: The Bickersons! I wonder if this show was a predecessor of The Bickersons?

In short was this a show like GEORGE BURNS and GRACIE ALLEN that would leave a Golden age radio trail, or just (recorded) guest routine put in other sh9wd

I have some all aluminum NBC Instantaneous Reference Recording discs. I just purchased a 78rpm 3mil stylus for my Audio-Technica AT70 cart. Do you think I can play these discs without damaging the discs or my new stylus? Thanks.

Greetings! Just to clarify: Are they coated aluminum or uncoated aluminum discs? Do they have a lacquer layer over the aluminum?

@@MarkAtnip Uncoated, all aluminum. No lacquer. Thanks

@@allen-rp3gm You should be able to play it without an issue. The sound on uncoated aluminum varies WIDELY as groove width, cutting depth and source quality tends to be really inconsistent. I have a pretty good stack of these, which were recorded in the same studio (professionally) and they have a wide degree of variance. If the 3.0 doesn't sound great, you might try a regular LP stylus, just to see if the groove was cut in a really shallow fashion. Let us know what you find out!

@@MarkAtnip I successfully transferred all 8 sides and just uploaded the whole thing on my channel. Many years ago I paid someone to transfer these with a cactus stylus. The results were underwhelming. Terrible surface noise and lost content due to skipping. My transfer sounds MUCH better and no skips! Thanks for the help! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nb6gqrepltmbo2Q.html

Possibly, however I have some Titan audition discs, and they have white labels. Either blank with handwritten information or a white version of the Titan label.

That woman's voice is awful familiar. Thought for a moment it might be Minerva Urecal, but I think it's a little too high.
