For everyone who is commenting saying Serena should have declined because she seems sad or didn’t wanna be there - consider being the greatest athlete of your sport and dedicating your entire life and existence at something and finally outwardly confessing that it’s all over. It’s not a happy subject to discuss, and she mentioned feeling sad about saying goodbye to tennis and how much she struggled with the decision to retire in general. Give her some grace for showing up and allowing us all the opportunity to hear her speak instead of walking away in silence!

Only been to the US Open once. While everyone was following Kournikova and watching her on the practice court, Serena and Venus were playing a doubles match. I had a really great seat. It was awesome. Little kids were chasing them around, at every opportunity. And at one point, Venus said - NO!! And that just encouraged the little kids to do it even more. Little kids loved the Williams sisters. Course. At that time, Venus was the one, who had won a grand slam. Arthur Ashe stadium nose bleed seats are not why you go to the US Open. The smaller courts have the action. Wow. That was a long time ago.

Please don't mention Margaret Court in the same sentence as Serena. She was NEVER mentioned when Graf held the most slams in the Open Era. Court only started being mentioned when Serena passed Graf. It's so disingenuous and stupid. Court was playing in Aussie Open when it wasn't even the Aussie Open and nobody was actually playing the tourney. ALL tennis players agreed for years, including Navratilova, Billie Jean King, Chrissy Evert and so forth that Court's record was inflated and not representative of the sport. But, only when Serena threatened to overtake Graf did everyone started ignoring the facts. Get out of here. I turned this off as soon as I heard them mention Court's bullcrap record.

These women have inspired men & women for decades!Plus it was a lot harder for them bc they continue to deal with obsticles due to envy, racism, sexism&hatred. The only reason Serena didn't win at least 5 more Slams was bc she became a mother.I wish Venus&Serena the best with their futures! To me Serena will always be my favorite tennis player or athlete man or woman! The William's Sisters will be missed!🎾🏆💔

Having a child didn't stop Margaret Court from winning numerous Slams or Kim Clijsters from winning two U.S. Open's defeating both sisters back to back in 2009! Serena had plenty of opportunities before & after she had a child and didn't take advantage of them!

SIR ENA would have only one 10 grandslams if Venus didn't get sick / was told not to play to allow SIR ENA TO try and get the record. Record is 24 by Margaret court.

Just messed up that it's so expensive so many can't see you play live. And even seeing you on the free Airwaves is impossible!! I've watched you all my life but my nieces they don't get to see that. You know Tick Tock and all that crap. Wishing you all the best for you and your family. The best and all your endeavors that's for both of you. What a immense joy to watch you.
