I know this is weird, but, I named my Black Lab Rufio at 19 because of this character and had him for 14 years. He was my literal best friend and I never went anywhere without my dude. I used to do the Rufio chant and everything to get him riled up! Rufio is in my heart forever.

This movie came out when there was a divorce craze going on in USA. I just revisited this movie first time since I was a child and wow. The movie subject mixed with reliving my past through watching the movie made me realize this movie helped me kind of escape any thoughts of this world and transported me to a safe place. I’m sure many others like me share this emotion and had Robin Williams fill in as our dad while we watched his charisma on screen

When Rufio got killed by Captain Hook, I was in shock and on the verge of tears at the sight of that scene, especially with his last words. Dante is such an amazing actor.

I was ten years old when this movie came out and I can still the remember the feeling I felt when my mom bought me the VHS tape when it became available at Lucky’s. It was magic and brings out those great childhood memories. Thank you Rufio. I still believe 🙏🏽❤️

He's so true about the scene of Rufio dying. I remember as a kid seeing this the first time in theaters. I closed my eyes at this scene and was scared of Hook from that point on. And everytime I watch the movie after, I'd always close my eyes or go to the bathroom during this scene. Until I was a little older and was able to see the whole scene without chickening. Yeah lol it was that traumatic for me.

There is a painting of him in the auditorium of my old high school. I never met him but my uncle's went to high school with him and his brothers. Rufio was so cool to me when I was a kid

This is the number one movie of all cinematic history the pure emotion that envelops from the scores is incredible. The main theme is really about a father being there for his children and this theme develops throughout the whole film. The entire hook score conducted by John Williams and his incredible Orchestra is a masterpiece and probably my absolute favorite. Did the movie and music score make you cry? Please let me know below.

I like that he points out that the death comes out of nowhere. A bunch of people getting egged and having paint sprayed on them and then Rufio just gets stabbed right through the chest. Brutal.

Rufio was one of my first crushes as a very young kid and was devastated when Hook killed him, so yeah. That definitely stuck with me for a long time. Then he went on to voice one of my all-time favorite animated characters in Avatar. It's nice to have grown up with Dante.

To me Rufio is and will always be a cool dude who’s got STYLE 😎 And to be clear: he never died. He got stabbed in Neverland. That brought him back into his realm where he continued his life as prince Zuko who became the Firelord the world needed. You want proof? Look at his hair 🔥

One time watching Hook with older eyes looking at Rufio I'd start to ponder his backstory of how old was he when Peter Pan never came back and all the boys realized they had forever lost their leader. How was it decided who the next leader was? Once Rufio is made the leader how would he start to distinguish himself especially against Hook if he ever attacked during that long time. Rufio had to be fearless and ruthless to fill Peter Pan's place even though he would never be able to have that one power of Pan which was flight. Rufio had a long run for himself and fought bravely right to the end.
