even though these custom film accurate toy story characters are are designed to resemble toys, it’s still means that they’re not always meant to be used as toys. Because these are more collectors things than just toys

That’s awesome. I also had learned not to store my batteries on some of my own Buzz from TS 1-2 figures over the past years if they come to life. Also still planning to work on taking the black plastic and replace the rubber parts where the arms attach, make the biceps rotate like seen in the movie, including laser pointer on my original Buzz.

I would say that is 90% accurate there are still some issues. The wings need to retract and the helmet as well. Also the wings need to be thinner and not so bulky but this is the most accurate i have seen so far.

So how does your custom Buzz get his helmet on? Because that was the reason why the Thinkway toys have a half helmet cus physically, Buzz glass helmet cannot retract into his body since there are other mechanisms inside him.

What's the difference between the older Buzz Light-years from thinkway and the newer ones besides voice and lighting? Are the older ones more accurate?

The most accurate ones are the collection or Signature collection Buzz. The other budget models yes are missing blinking lights in the wing tips and it’s less interactive, also doesn’t have a head motor and doesn’t have other small detail features. Maybe I’ll make a review comparison one day.

It looks great, but I think the green paint is too bright and the purple is too dark. I prefer the lime green and slightly bright purple Buzz, which is similar to the way he looked in Toy Story and Toy Story 2. The Toy Story 3 Buzz was slightly off from what he looked like before, but that was due to the change in the computer graphics more than the overall character design itself. So Pixar couldn't make Buzz look 100% the same, but it's close enough to where most people can't tell the difference unless you pay attention to details like we hardcore Toy Story fans do.

That is mainly my choice why he looks like that. My personal request was for Buzz to look like Andy held him in Toy Story 3 before moving to college. That was a very sentimental scene for me that floods me with nostalgia. So he accommodated that for me. I do agree Buzz went through many changes from the first Toy Story movie.

@@todayigrewup Yeah if you look closely at the Buzz Lightyear character design in Toy Story 1, he looks the same but not as good. His eyebrows were thinner, he was cross-eyed with his eyelids halfway closed, and his smile was crooked. Buzz's body also looked way too plasticky in the first Toy Story, he looked much better in the sequels.

First you have to paint it movie accurate green color. Then you add many coats of glow in the dark spray paint after the green is dried.

It completely baffles me that Hot Toys have not picked the toy story license up. It seems like a win/win. Yet it hasn’t happened and I can’t help but wonder why, when hot toys holds so many Disney licences. If any toy company was going to make buzz exactly as he appeared in the films, with all his gizmos made accurately. Its Hot toys. 💯

I hope too! I think a hot toys buzz would be killer. No doubt swappable heads or moving eyes etc. Hot toys really go beyond the call of duty and I feel like they are the only company with the talent to make a true buzz lightyear replica from the films. In the meantime at least we have your beauty to admire 😄

The helmet can’t go down it’s impossible they would have to move the voice box so the helmet doesn’t hit the voice box and crash it so it’s impossible inless they move the voice box
