I love the ideas. Ask a daycare teacher 18 months 2 almost 3 year olds. I sometimes run out of ideas and these are good ones. I also love that tree. Can you let us know how you did that.

Do you have any tips on how to teach the children to keep things in their center (or close to it)? If I put crayons out everything will be colored on and sensory bin items will be all over the classroom. I really want to add more to my classroom but since I am the only teacher I am having trouble with this. Thanks!

If you are teaching 2 year olds, it's a challenge. They love to transport everything! As tempting as it is, do not add more at this time. In fact, you might want to simplify a bit. This way you can monitor the centers and as soon as you see crayons being moved to the sensory bin, help them take the crayons back to the writing table and say "the crayons are for paper". Almost all of our centers materials get moved around on a daily basis - I will be honest. But I have a few areas that I watch carefully - art supplies, writing table supplies, and sensory bin supplies.

Thank you 🙏 I really enjoy your walkthroughs of your classroom. This is very out of the blue but do you have a way to maintain your easel when children are doing art? I have the Melissa and Doug easel as well. Any tips ?

Good question! For our 2 and young 3 year olds, they often want to work together (2 at a time) and it's actually a fun way for them to learn how to share space, plus work on verbal skills as they work together. However, if a child chooses to work alone, then I tell the other child that they can have a turn when the current painter is finished. I write that child's name on a piece of paper and let them know that it will be waiting when it's their turn. When I taught older children, I'd have a piece of paper on a clipboard if several children were wanting to use the easel at the same time, and I'd tell them I would call their name when it was their turn. I hope I've answered your question correctly. Please let me know if you had something else in mind!

Do you suggest a morning binder for this age group? Spell name, weather, etc
