Thanks Jay for excellent interactive video on integrated TOEFL-Ibt writing Task-1. Indeed its lot more easier approach even for the students who have little vocabulary. Just want to ask can you immediately provide at least 50 whole full TOEFL-Ibt tests for practice a month before. If you can, I would like to assess from you through paid option. Surprised! I am writing a comment after previous writer Katwar Bellod almost 4 years ago!

Hello in integrated essay first we have get the topic and write on the integrated essay . The listening thing is very important because you have to be very fast and accurate in the notes. So I am developing the skill more and more while I am listening it very cautiously. So we have make out the points from reading passage and the listening passage. And in 20 minutes we have to do it .So you have shown that you have written 203 words. So there are words which we have to get while listening and reading.

Writing 1: The reading and the lecture both deal with free trade and its expansion. Whilst the author thinks that it can only offer benefits for three reasons, the lecturer opposes the author's arguments. First, the author claims that this kind of economic activity will be good talking about the international division of labor, considering that each country has a specialized product, so that it can earn a lot of money. In contrast, the lecturer believes that an unbalanced economic development will emerge thanks to that, especially when it comes to in development countries. Second, the author mentions that people's life quality around the world can improve considerably, because most products are going to be sold for higher prices, which is related to a massive production. However, the lecturer calls this argument into question by saying that free trade is going to be good only for a small group of people who earn a great amount of money, and probably those products will be sold for cheaper prices in poor countries. Finally, the author points out that a production in large scale requires more people, which means more citizens will be called to become workers for dozens of companies. As opposed, the lecturer thinks that these economic system will affect negatively those who wish to work in their countries, because companies have looked for foreign people to work in order to reduce costs. Although both reading and lecture discuss about free trade and its characteristics, those arguments above show how they cast doubt between them.

while the passage states that free trade secures the advantage of international division of labor and makes optimum utilization of resources the lecture express a different point of view. The first passage claims that due to utilization of resources there will be more production and employment opportunities .However the lecture states that free trade will lead to unbalanced trade and have negative effect on employment. Second passage asserts that free trade increase the efficiency which will help country to obtain goods in cheap price .However the lecture contradicts by saying free trade is only beneficial for rich countries . Lastly third paragraph argues that free trade will create employment opportunity in the country with other developments the lecture states that free trade creates dependency in the country which will slowly lead to vanish of home factories .

one question, the arguments from the reading and the lecture were not in order right. Meaning, the 1st argument from the passage and the listening were okay, but then the 2nd from the listening challenged the 3nd argument from the reading and the last from the listening the 2nd from the reading. This confused me. Are the arguments usually in the same order or can be given unorganized by the lecture?

Recently, there has been a ton of debate as to free trade. More specifically, in regard to the passage, the writer puts forth the idea that it has a lot of benefits to the economic labor division. In the listening, the lecturer is quick to point out that there are some serious flaws in the writer’s claims. In fact, the professor believes that it actually plays a bad role in the economic and has disadvantages, and addresses, in detail, the trouble with each point made in the reading text. First and foremost, the author of the reading states that unrestricted trade will keep the advantages of International divisions in which each country will be specialized for particular goods and eventually lead to an increase in economic growth. Some professionals in the same field, however, stand in firm opposition to this claim. In the listening, for example, the professor states that by doing this step, it will lead to unbalanced economic development. She goes on to say that some countries will be neglected. One group of scholars, represented by the writer, think that free will increase the standard of living in the world. Of course, though, not all experts in this field believe this is accurate. Again, the speaker specifically addresses this point when she states that this is not right in which this only will be beneficial for rich people. In which, poor countries will produce the products at the cheapest price. As a result, they don’t participate in the economy. Finally, the author wraps his argument by posting that free trade will lead to more creations of jobs. Not surprisingly, the lecturer takes issue with this claim by contending that history showed that free unrestricted trade results in a decrease in developing employment. In which, it doesn't necessarily maintain benefits to local people. What happens that, factories take the cheapest option by offshoring foreign workers. To sum up, both the writer and professor hold conflicting views about free trade.

The topic about free trade policy has created a big discussion among people because as it offers some apparent big advantages for economies; however, it also has its disadvantages which are important not to overlook. For this, I will elaborated what is currently discussed between the author and the lecturer. First, the author claims that a free trade allow countries to sell a product in which they are experts to manufacture because they can provide an extra over their competitors. Additionally, he says that this will boost economy by providing more employment and a better use of national resources for each country. However, the lecturer disagrees because developed countries have more economic advantages than undeveloped countries. Therefore, she adds that this only provides an unbalanced environment. Second, the passages suggests that as there is more demand for products and this will lead to produce goods at a cheaper price. Moreover, because of cheaper products, people will have a rise on his standard of living. Nonetheless, the speaker opposes this idea when she says that this reduction on price happens because companies establish operations offshore where labor is cheap. Finally, the writer argues that this policy will increase the demand of labor as more goods are being produces. In the article, he suggests that this happens as markets began to expand. In contrast, the lecturer, challenges this position as she says that companies overseas will not hire people from the offshore country.

Hi Jay, thanks for this material. I have a brief question for you. I have heard that if there are 14 supporting ideas in the lecture, I have to write down in the summary at least 12 to get 5.0/5.0. Is that right? They say if I write less than 12, I will get 4.5/5.0 no matter if the summary is perfect.

Look at www.quora.com/What-does-a-score-of-30-look-like-on-the-TOEFL-iBT-writing-section and you will find this "To get a score of 5 on task 1. You need to have a MINIMUM of 85-90% of the total listening points/key notes. So if we say, there is a TOTAL of 14 x HALF points of lecture note/points. Then a student who has 13 or 14 OUT OF 14, and has good grammar + correct organization will get a 5. I’ve seen lots of my student get this. A student who only has 11 or 12 OUT OF 14 will have a harder time getting a 5 UNLESS they are better at grammar than previous students. EVEN if you have PERFECT grammar + PERFECT organization, BUT your listening skill is weak as ONLY allow you to get 8 or 10 OUT OF 14. You score will NOT be a 5, could be 4 or 4.5."
