Their differences come up much more obviously when working with fringes. Delicas do a bang up job already, but Aikos-unbelievably satisfying in their alignment. Also, this fiber optic finish is gorgeous!!! Delica Silks look similar, but (though maybe because of lighting) they don't exhibit that much brilliance. I consider Toho Aikos like flawless diamonds, with Delicas being VS1 🤣

This is a great video 🤓 Thank for all the examples and beautiful work 💙 I use Toho exclusively but hadn't seen the Aiko needs. Time to order some. Hope you'll be doing more videos 🧡 Sending lots of love from Nova Scotia 💌

I just discovered Aiko and love working with them. They just seem more uniform than Delica. I haven’t tried to use both in a project yet..... I’ll try that next. Thanks for doing this comparison:)

Same! I do prefer Aiko because they seem to work up so nicely. Even though the video shows that there isn’t a whole lot of difference looks wise, I still like how they feel in the hand when doing projects. 💚

Actually, I started out with Czech beads because I couldn't believe (or justify) the Delica prices. Then I moved up to the French, but they seemed to be more of a 10 than 11. The French factory closed around 2002 and then I started with Toho and Miyuki seeds, and only gradually (bolstered by the absence of expensive children at home) found my way into Delicas. The French and Czech have become my orphan beads, neglected or pawned off with promises, but I promise them I will come back. Often.

I’ve actually never had the opportunity to work with French beads 💚

@@SpacePickleDesigns Some of the American Indian supply stores still have them, mostly limited to opal pastels.

I think the Toho beads are the light blue or is that a white?

I love those Toho fiber-optic. Miyuki Delica does make some similar, it's called Silk. DB679 is one of the colors. Looking at the Toho fiber-optics it looks like the offer very similar color range. Great video, thanks for sharing :)

Yes!!! I just recently saw them at my local bead store. I was happy to see that in case folks didn’t want to have to spend the Aiko price.

But Delica silks cut the Fireline. Even in a plain peyote triangle, and forget bezeling or ropes. I gave mine away after realizing what was happening. Look at the edges on the hole with a magnifying glass and compare to any other finish. If you didn't have a scissors, you could put the thread through a Delica silk and saw away two or three times and voila! thread is cut.

Omgosh where can I get a pattern for those awesome bead balls and how hard are they to to do? Also where did you pick up the aiko and did you shop are for price comparison on that particular line you were using in the Aiko’s?

Hi there! You can get the pattern from Laura McCabe’s book “Creating Crystal Jewelry with Swarovski” and it is the “Crown Jewel” pattern. Or you can buy an entire kit from her shop (comes with needles and everything minus thread!) at www.justletmebead.com/product_p/cjb-ls.htm I think I picked up the Aiko from www.Artbeads.com

Hi. I'm stopping here because I bought a bracelet in Etsy with miyuki and seed bed but it doesn't say the difference between them. As a customer, how can I identify the difference because I've seen different prices too in these jewelry? I don't want to be scam paying the fine one against the bad quality ones. Thanks you
