Tokyo, Japan Travel Vlog. My first impression of Tokyo, Japan! I traveled to Japan for the first time and explore Tokyos top attractions& top places to see in Tokyo; Shibuya crossing, Senso-Ji Temple in Asakusa & Harajuku. I go vintage shopping at Tokyo's best second-hand store Chicago, I tired traditional ramen and Japnese sweets in Nakamise. I also share the cost of traveling Tokyo (prices of capsule hotel, food, transportation in Tokyo).

I've visited most of the big cities in the world, but only Tokyo is on a different level. To be more precise, Japan itself is a very peculiar place, just like any other planet outside of Earth. In a good way, of course. You'll feel it more if you visit different parts of Japan, not just Tokyo.

In the past, Tokyo has always been the most desirable Asian city for Shanghainese. Today Tokyo is also one of my personal favorite cities. But Shanghai has a huge advantage that Tokyo cannot compare with, that is, the park and green area in the center of Shanghai far exceeds that of Tokyo.

The atmosphere in China is bit like a South Europe or US style in East Asia, cuz their people feels more random than other East Asians. Japan feels like the North Europe style of East Asia. In these mega cities around Asia, I love Tokyo and shanghai the most, two totally different lifestyle.

The notable difference is that you can express your discontent with local political parties freely in Tokyo. Try it in Shanghai.

然而你自由表达完之后,没有任何人会真正理你,这就是民主的虚伪性,比如东电公司为了自己的成本把核污染水排海。中国政府和人民跟你的区别是从来不会说自己是完美的、骄傲自满,而是低下去实际解决问题(However, after you express your freedom, no one will really care about you, which is the hypocrisy of democracy. For example, TEPCO dumping nuclear contaminated water into the sea for its own costs. The difference between the Chinese government and people compared to you is that they never claim to be perfect or proud, but rather they humble themselves and focus on solving practical problems.)

Comparing Tokyo with Shanghai, the biggest disadvantage is that there are too few trees. As for the degree of development, in my opinion, the area is larger in Tokyo, but the high-tech applications in Shanghai are more extensive, because there are more than 300,000 Japanese in Shanghai alone. or more.

If a foreigner is a "China hand" in China, the communityIf a foreigner is a "China hand" in China, the community they live in will gradually see them as one of their own and treat them generously and warmly. However, in Japan, foreigners are always seen as outsiders because the Japanese are inherently exclusive. The more polite they seem on the surface, the more insurmountable this barrier becomes.(如果外国人在中国是一个“中国通”,那他所居住的社区会逐渐把你人当成自己人,大方和热情。但在日本,外国人永远被视为外国人,因为日本人在骨子里是排外的,越是表面看起来礼貌,反而让这层隔阂越无法逾越)

Been to both cities,The biggest difference,as a tourist, you will really like Tokyo at first, everything is made very carefull and unic, but if you live there for more than three months, you will feel a lot of pressure , a little boring, stranger. But Shanghai,it is another very extreme opsite example,at the beginning, you will feel hard whelming and unable to adapt to life, if you live there for more than three months, you will find the diversity, internationalization, convenience, and rapid development , the more time ,the more dependency.

Shanghai is nowhere near the same level as Tokyo. Been to both in the last 4 months and was not that impressed by Shanghai despite all the economic growth it’s experienced in recent times. Sure there are some nice buildings here and there but the rest of the place just seemed old and not aesthetic. 2 months after visiting Shanghai, I revisited Tokyo again and it made me realise how huge and exciting Tokyo is (made Shanghai seem like a small town). But what really sets the two apart is the intangible. Tokyo has a vibe that excites you and makes you feel like a first world mega city, Shanghai doesn’t. Tokyo wins by miles

The biggest difference is not what you can easily see, but people and lifestyle. You never wanna live in a communist country without freedom regardless of how developed a city looks at first sight. People are not developed enough in the country. No manners and lack of morality cause nosiness, dirtiness and cloud with chaos. In regards to the price, Inflation rate is not high in Tokyo compared the most of major cities around the world. If you earn American $, Tokyo is unbelievably affordable.

@@duaneslife4016 I’ve studied and lived in Beijing University for summer about 3 months with other international students and Chinese friends from American University. It was nice and fun, but I also felt no freedom of speech as well. Some of my friends in Hong Kong now can never talk freely about negative things about CCP and democracy. Also, if you check rankings of quality of life online made by international institutes none of Chinese cities can compete Tokyo. Not saying it’s bad to live in China just saying there are better places out here on earth. Trust me bro been to China 5 times.
