The point of the bell scene and Masaya's character, as episode 3 showed, is that he doesn't know what love is, because of his origins and the way he was raised he never experienced love from a person or for a person, a girl in this case. For the whole episode he was nervous, stressed and with separation anxiety, but he couldn't connect all these feelings to love. Only more ahead, with Tokyo Tower battle, he'll realize what love is, but for now, the only way he has to express it to Ichigo is the bell, it's a innocent way to say her "I like you, you're precious to me, I don't want to lose you". And even calling her "my kitten" is explained in the episode: he doesn't know what love for a girl is, but he knows he likes cats. So, he calls her his kitten. Masaya is a very deep and interesting character with his hidden secrets, and once you know his background and who he is, you find a sense to the actions he has in the series.

Tokyo Mew Mew is almost like a tamer version of Sailor Moon. This is a really adorable series and I highly recommend it to people who love Magical Girl series like Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura. Tokyo Mew Mew was screwed over by 4Kids in the past, so that is why I am really super defensive when it comes to modern day censorship that might be forced onto today's Anime much like how Glitter Force was censored even though PreCure was extremely tame in it's Japanese version.

Ok I don't watch magical girl shows (I've seen Madoka) and don't know this one... but that's some high level horsesht that Kyubey is put in a better light just cos he at least asked for consent first. Kyubey took advantage of the fragile mental states of young girls by intentionally psychologically scarring them for the purpose of converting their negative emotions into energy. So how the fk does that make Kyubey better than this? Sure they became magical girls without consent, but this seems tame asf in comparison to whatever the magical girls in Madoka went through because of Kyubey.

I don´t think they will do the bunny outfits now after seeing episode 4. During the audition in the manga, they were wearing swimsuits, not those white shirts. Also episode 5 changed how the... hehe... Ichigo x Kisshu moment went down. Ichigo´s pyjamas was also changed

TMM if a fun show. Most anime for girls are like this. Half of the time they do get attacked. But this show compared to those are super tame. Innocent fun and cute. I loved the OG and I'm enjoying this version. That person, and anyone else who feels the same, needs to relax and pet a cute kitty cat. 🐈 😺😻

I used to think of ANN as people who understood the fandom and knew of what they were doing when they were writing the articles. Until 2019 when I saw how they were deliberately smearing Vic trying to ruin not only his career but also his private life in general and when the Anime fans called out ANN on their tactics, ANN just doubled down and attacked the fans who were pointing our their unethical behavior. So I refuse to go to ANN since then because they don't deserve my views. They are just as bad as Kotaku and all the other Mainstream Geek websites that I thought they used to care about the entertainment they covered because they were fans who were also journalists writing about their hobbies in a professional way. NOW I just see them as Journalists who didn't like the hobbies that they get paid to write about and they are just Activists trying to bide time until they get into a more Mainstream Political Journalism. Back in the 90s and 2000s when these Geek hobbies first started having websites to begin with, I think they used to have journalists who were fans who did care about what they write, but when I look at what has happened since 2014 I just see posers who are not fans but they are activists using fandoms for their social justice causes. Gatekeep those fake geeks out of our hobbies.

In my opinion I can see that the new TMM is rushed considering the amount of episodes allocated for the series. Probably if it had the same number of episodes as Sailormoon Crystal the pacing could be better. I watched the old version as a kid and I understand that there are more developments there due to more episodes but still the production team could write it better? I find it kind of weird of how Ichigo fell in love with Aoyama although she barely knew him. She finds him good looking and cool, and all of the sudden, bam! She fell deeply in love with him. I mean like there's no more specific or reasonable reason as to why Ichigo fell for him other than finding him attractive. It's not wrong but compared to the old one where Ichigo has been having a long time crush for Aoyama, this new one is so...random. There's also not much depth in the Mew's relationship. And again I understand the episode restriction buuuttt!!! It's a classic beloved and they should've done it better! I guess it's not bad but it could be better in my opinion. It has so much potential, the music, the transformation, the art and animation are all very fresh and nostalgic at the same time. All ruined by a slight poor writing.

Mew Pudding is ok with it because she can become like her fav character from the Journey to the West fairytale.

Personally, I see nothing wrong about the new series. The artstyle really is different, sure I prefer the old one, but at least they look beautiful unlike the classic Sailor Moon reboot the Crystals where the girls are not even looking half as good as they were in the original.

I loved tokyo mew mew as a kid. None of the original content ever bothered me. I always assumed Lettuce's og design was intended to be a swim suit or mermaid-like because she is a porpoise. I yet to watch the reboot because any type of reboot I feel pretty hesitant about watching. I seen too many bad remakes that I am unwilling to give the new ones a chance anymore.
