Tokyo faces a new reality after the tragedy of 3/11. While persistent challenges still lay ahead, the city's creative class is hell-bent on making sure that their hometown thrives. Innovative and resilient, they are defining the future of Tokyo on their own terms. We put our boots on and went exploring.

I understand why Pharrell loves Tokyo. It's the one place where he's actually the tallest :) Tokyo is great though. I'd love to go back some day.

I went to Tokyo when I was 16. My parents couldn't really understand but I thought and still think Tokyo is one of the most beautiful city's in the world.

I think everyone needs to leave their country to travel at least once in their life if they can.... just to put things into perspective. How different people CAN be... it is absolutely astonishing, and yet at the same time... there are things that bring us all together.

I've lived in a lot of different places both in america and in asia (Korea/Japan). In asian countries and most countries in general, the lighter the skin the better. Asian girls as a whole do tend to flock to white men, thats somewhat true. HOWEVER, depending on where you are in the US you'll find that the opposite can happen. Its all about the community.

In Japan, its different. Whether men or women there like to get tanned and prefer to have darker skin. Girls who are attracted to white men or any foreign guys are usually called left overs( amari-mono) in Japan. They could not get with Japanese men maybe because they could not fit the japanese beauty standard so they go for foreigners.
