Hey John! Thanks for letting me join you on this little Tokyo tour! Was a cool concept! Your Allbirds sneakers survived! 😀 Next time shall we add a zero and do 100,000 steps? Now that's an adventure! 😄

I really enjoyed this walking episode, it was so much fun. Absolutely loved the two of you taking us along on your ‘perilous’ trail. 😊 Hopefully we will get to see more interesting uploads from both of you as a duet! 👍 Thank You so much John and Dean. And, see you guys hopefully soon in Tokyo. 🇯🇵 Love & Peace 💙✌️🇬🇧

Anyone visiting Tokyo. I highly recommend you bring your best pair of New Balances. They’re stylish yet extremely comfortable. I made the mistake of bringing a more stylish brand of shoe on my first visit. Instantly regretted. You don’t realize how much you actually walk throughout the day, blinded by the beauty of Tokyo lol. I averaged 16,000 steps / 7.5 miles of walking daily.

Definitely don’t forget good shoes! You think you’ll be in subways and stuff, but walking is incredible here! 15,000-20,000 steps easy to do!

I feel like it’s a lot of walking at many destinations in Europe too. I averaged almost 20k steps a day in my last two trips (France and Spain) and I think it will be around the same in Japan lol. I like my Adidas ultraboosts for this amount of walking, had pain when using my Allbirds with this amount of steps.

also depends on the model of new balances. I recommend the 990v6 since it has a good mix up cushion and support but not too cushy where you feet sink and become unstable. They also look phenomenal and very very stylish. inserts will also help!

I absolutely LOVE the under-the-tracks buildings in Tokyo. Here in the USA, we have just parking under any bridge. I would love to see a behind the scenes video on how those are designed.

It’s one of my favourite things to do is to walk through the cities that I visit, you get to see everything you don’t get to see in a car or a bus or a train.

I did lots of walking around Tokyo in my recent trip. Actually I walked this same Yurakucho to Akihabara on the other side of the track, though I didn't stop there but continued all the way to Ueno. Also Shimbashi to Shinjuku and Ginza to Kitasenju. Racked up some 700k steps total on my trip. Got plenty of nice pictured along the way.

This summer that was so hot when i was visiting Tokyo, i decided to walk from Roppongi "center"? where my hotel was to Akihabara for the fun of it, a 2 hour walk. Which was not my best decision given the sweltering heat. But i really got to see all the different buildings, shops that i would never see without. Even found a Ichiran ramen shop that had barely any people in it. Walking past all the office buildings aswell with their towering might.

You two looked really cold with the rain and all. Dean brought his gloves. Are there other food truck 'pods' around Akihabara? You gave me pause with that comment about Denny's being closed. I'm staying at the Akihabara Washington in a month and was planning to breakfast there once or twice. I checked Denny's website and that location is still listed.
@onlyinjapanGO5 ай бұрын
It was funny, it LOOKED closed, didn’t it? I didn’t confirm it - the balcony though was definitely not open.

Shoes do wear out 😂 that’s quite impressive. But if the soles are still good, they are good to go. People throw things out that still have value, if we can use things longer, that would reduce a load of waste! I tell my wife I can wear the same T-shirt for 10 years but she disagrees 😂 her sense of smell is much better than mine.

Laws keep changing. You have to know the rules of the road which is why they require license plates. I’ll look into it.
