haha that german guy is almost a caricature XD Its so funny to see some fellow germans behaving totally german somewhere else in the world! :D Im fascinated that nobody mentioned the taking off your shoes inside a house thing because it is so incredibly important and I have heard lots of japanese friends complaining about foreigners forgetting about that rule O_O (I actually dont understand how you can forget it because here in Germany it is also normal in most homes that you wear slippers or at least take of your shoes at the door when you visit someone)

I'm surprised how similar that man finds Germany and Japan, given such the stark difference, that I observe. Haven't physically been to either country yet, but I have family in Germany, and friends/loved ones in Japan. I've never heard or seen anything on either country, that ever made me think of any similarities, but maybe I was pigeonholing? One of the biggest things I know I'll have to get used to when I visit Japan, will be alcohol consumption in public. That's going to be a hurdle for me.

There actually have been quite a few similarities, but they vanish with growing diversity in Germany.

If not drinking in public is a "hurdle" for you, it sounds like you have a drinking problem.

@@ThreadBomb It’s actually an opposite issue. My mother’s father was an alcoholic, and he molested and tried to rape me, when I was a child. Don’t assume to know anything, about people whom you know nothing of.

during the rapid modernisation of japan, they send scholars to copy from western nations, they copied alot from Prussia and later on had exchanges as military ally which is where similarities come from, however Prussia is quiet outdated which is why the japanese seem a bit stuck up to modern germans

Basically just act the opposite way that Logan Paul did when he was there embarrassing himself and the US.
