Toledo Symphony Performs Music from Star Wars

Toledo Symphony Orchestra performed the music of composer John Williams featuring many of his Hollywood favorites. As they performed music from the movie Star Wars, they were joined on stage by some special guests from a galaxy far, far away (C-3PO, Chewbacca, Darth Vader & Stormtroopers).

I've often wondered if any concert musicians, when playing such powerful music, are ever overcome by the music's power. I would be crying tears of joy and grinning from ear to ear while reading my music sheets...

@@dotunderscore I have actually seen various solo performers, namely cello and the like, actually produce tears as they play some especially powerful section of music. That's the great thing about classical music: Since there are no words, it can appeal to anyone, anywhere.

the tempo was a bit faster on the imperial march portion than what it should be but other than that this was a great show :)

Fantastic music. But, I gotta say, that is one of the worst Chewbacca costumes I've ever seen... But anyway, it's hard for young kids today to grasp how much of a mind-blowing experience it truly was seeing that title screen and hearing John Williams' *AMAZING* score. I was completely blown away as a 10 year old kid. By the time the movie was over, I had forgotten what my own name was, I was so flabbergasted. I went on to see it 26 more times in the theater... Anyway, George Lucas (and Steven Spielberg also) owe a tremendous debt to JW for the _magic_ that his fantastic music added to their productions. JW3HH
