I switched to Team Tom back in '95 or '96. At a certain point the creative team just ran out of reasons for Tom to go after Jerry. Instead, Jerry would go out of his way to provoke Tom into chasing him. Jerry would flat out troll and harass on some episodes.

Admittedly, I got a few chuckles from Droopy's cameo too. Even that visual gag at the beginning of the film where you see a billboard of him dressed up as Joaquin Phoenix's Joker made me laugh.

Actually I liked the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie. It wasn't Roger Rabbit but I thought the jokes were quite in line with the original humor of the series. This is worse. The human characters in this are extremely unfunny and Tom and Jerry seem too secondary in their own movie. Their parts are not bad but not especially brilliant either.

This feels like it was part of those failed pitch reels for live-action cgi based on old WB characters that leaked online in 2009. (Witch for Those unaware they were for a Hong Kong Phoney movie starring Eddie Murphy and the Marvin the Martian Christmas film)

The 1990's Tom and Jerry movie is worth watching just for Tony Jay's voice performance. Yes him saying "We've got to have ... money" has basically become a meme, but his performance was no joke. He was one of the greatest actors of all time and he managed to even make a cartoony lawyer sound menacing and eloquent.

it’s been revealed back in August of 2021 that the writers of Sonic The Hedgehog movie were called by WB to write Tom and Jerry (2021). But WB executives get rid of Pat and Josh because they don’t want the cat and mouse to be the main focus. The source is by a website cartoon brew and by a podcast called The GHZ Podcast (The podcast isn’t available on KZfaq but somewhere different and I found this on a tweet)

Tom actually won a few times in in the old shorts. One in particular was when Tom teamed up with his cousin who was afraid of mice, and Tom tricked Jerry into leaving the house for good.

A: It's not a reboot of an old property B: The animation techniques used in roger rabbit are techniques that have NEVER been used again, do to how both Painful the experiences was on those animators, and how expensive it was. C: They were lucky enough to have a star who had top notch professional mime training, meaning the illusion was more real.

Believe it or not, Tom's owner wasn't originally called "Mammy Two-Shoes". In fact she wasn't named at all in the original shorts or during production, the comics at the time gave her names such as Mandy & Dinah. The name in fact derives from an almost identical character from the Classic Disney Shorts. No idea how this misunderstanding came to be, but that's some retroactive racism!

Jerry never talked. Tom only spoke twice in the cartoons. He sang "Is you is or is you ain't my baby." Singing counts as talking. In one cartoon he says "Don't you believe it." After getting badly hurt from Jerry once at the end of the cartoon. Those are the only times he has spoken. The other characters in the Tom and Jerry cartoons did speak. Spike the dog talked. That duck in one of the cartoons talked. The banjo mouse talked. There was a black street cat that talked. The human characters in the cartoons talked.

Rule #1 of these "cartoon in live-action" movies: Focus on the boring human characters dealing with boring human problems (About to be a parent, new job, change in career-plans....student-loans... human-trafficking) To me, the only outliers are "Rocky & Bullwinkle" (which has some spots of legit charm and humor), and both Paddington movies, which are fantastic.

in reference to 12:27 Who started it?? That's the problem with the modern take. Now I haven't seen the movie yet, so correct me if i'm wrong. These two are violent to each other, as they were back in the original shorts. However, it wasn't for pure hate, or just for gags. Back then, it was about a cat trying to EAT that mouse! Pure, natural animal instincts. No story lines, no adventures into fantasy land, no singing pigeons to narrate the story, none of all that.

I can't tell which theatrical Tom and Jerry movie is worst This new one where the plot is Tom and Jerry were it's a remake of Dunstan Checks In Starring a Teannge Eloise of Plaza Or the one from the 90s where it's a remake of The Rescuers, starring the daughter of Tom Selick Indiana Jones, Miss Hannigan and Roster from Annie, Wendell of cinnamon toast crunch, and Captain kangaroo dressed as a pirate. I'm leaning towards the 90s one because they have Tom and Jerry not only be best freinds, but have them talk, then agin the 90s one is more interesting in a WTF kind of way .

Tom and Jerry did talk a few times in the old cartoons, but it was very rare. The only time that really stands out is the episode where they both commit suicide together at the end (I'm serious).

The whole idea of making a live action cartoon adaptation in the style of this is so outdated by this point. Like, why do we even give a shit about the human characters doing something related to business or sometimes even politics with outdated popular trends and shitty pop songs when we’re here to watch Tom and Jerry? This feels like something that should’ve been kept in the mid-late 2000s to early 2010s with films like Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Smurfs yet here we are doing the same thing in the year 2021. I honestly hope Space Jam 2 is a good guilty pleasure later this year!

it’s been revealed back in August of last year that the writers of Sonic The Hedgehog movie were called by WB to write Tom and Jerry (2021). But WB executives get rid of Pat Casey because they don’t want the cat and mouse to be the main focus. The source is by a podcast called The GHZ Podcast and it’s Episode 16 at the 1 hour and 2 minute mark

When I was kid I noticed that Jerry normally won their fights and Jerry started it. At about 7 years old I felt that Tom was trying to do his job and Jerry was going out of his way to hurt Tom.

Space Jam: A New Legacy seems like it’s going to do good and better than both Scoob! and Tom & Jerry. I think if anyone goes into the sequel with high expectations for the film and think negatively from the first movie then you aren’t going to enjoy it. They say lowering your expectations isn’t good to do but for the sake of bringing back classic cartoon properties to the current mainstream audience you should.

For a family movie it’s passable. The scenes with just Tom and Jerry are actually funny- but the surrounding story with the actual humans is a jumbled mess. Most family movies not made by Pixar or Disney don’t really turn into good reviewable movie.

As someone who's discovered the BEASTARS anime a few days ago, I'd much rather watch something much more mature in its themes than going back to characters who've had their day a long time ago. I know BEASTARS isn't exactly family-friendly but I think kids can learn and be entertained by something better than TOM AND JERRY. To the producers, T&J is a classic property that they don't have to put much thought into, expecting to cash in on nostalgic parents who take their kids to see it.

The cartoon was made in the 40s and back then the Tom's and Jerry's were the nicknames of the British and German troops, though originally Tom was named Jasper they quickly changed it and some people see it as satire of the time. WW2

It was alright. It wasn't by any means the worst film I've ever seen, but it wasn't the best either. I can see kids loving the animated Tom and Jerry scenes but not so much the human scenes.

I dont mind the rap music. Because in the old cartoon they did black music. Also, The Bride wasn't stereotypical or her family. Although the bartender was neutered. And some was the Bellsman was just helping her and nothing else.
