This is one of the most hilarious scenes in the show, but also the most mind-boggling. Tom tells Ravenhead outright that he thinks this whole meeting is bullshit, and offers him every out imaginable for his answers - it's not just a softball, it's a fucking feather duster. And yet Ravenhead just brazenly admits to... everything? Maybe it's like that scene in The Big Short - "he's not confessing, he's bragging." Thinks he's untouchable. Still though, sheesh.

Just curious, what's the connection? Does Tucker Carlson have a dog named after hitler's dog? Literally the only connection could be possibly reading Mein Kampf? Which like so the fuck what? If you are a political pundit its not crazy to have read in university, we read das capital and the communist manifesto not out of support for marxism but as part of understanding history and theory and literature.

@Potatotenkopf

Is that actually true? The office always struck me as completely devoid of real world politics, which is why I never really took interest. Succession however is full of politics and at it's core is even a satire of Rupert murdochs life.

Is this supposed to be an endorsement for “Succession”? Its humor is worthy of “The Office”? Now, that’s funny
@gianni206
@gianni206 Жыл бұрын
@@Potatotenkopf Yeah actually. Around season 5 Michael, the goofy boss, quits the office and sets up his own paper company to compete with them. Then in season 6, a company called Sabre buys out the main paper company, and some characters deal with new policies and corruption. Throughout the show, the question of “what makes a hostile work environment” is usually explored using the overworked bootlicker Dwight Shrute, the cowardly HR rep Toby, and various other characters and certain points. The Office is also framed the same way as Succession, using guerrilla camera techniques. It overstays its welcome after season 6, and season 1 has a different tone to the rest of the show, but overall season 1 through 6 is a smart and funny show, with multiple references to office and corporate politics.
@Potatotenkopf
@Potatotenkopf Жыл бұрын
@@gianni206 huh interesting, a bunch of my friends back in high school had personalities revolving around that show and I never understood why, even now to be honest. I still think succession is leagues better though solely because of the music but maybe I'll give the office a watch, when I have time :(, after I watch the new season of succession.

It's always so interesting to see the characters process in real time that they are the bad guys in this world. like Roman talking about seeing on twitter all these people happy that Logan might die. They know to a degree that they are all on the side of evil but to have the life and power they have they need to keep with it. Tom is clearly disturbed by this, and knows it's wrong that he has a job and is covering the news but at the same time how is he going to fire the nazi the company essentially hired to be a nazi.

I'm watching New Amsterdam and the Ravenhead actor is currently playing a young father who's passionately fighting for custody of his newborn. That' being said, I can't see him as anything other than Ravenhead so here I am. 🤣

Different spelling...that you know how Hitler spelled it to have a contrast, but not a cover story for picking that name!😂

Were they sure they wanted to make a drama series? I don't know why but I'm laughing my ass out with this show. Almost every weird or unconfy situation, no matter how serious or comical is, got that camera zoom moment like it's The Office and all the character got left is a fucked face and only has to look at us. Already ending s2 and can't take it serious but I'm still having fun😂😂😂

It's always been a comedy series.

@@DontTakeThisSeriously616 I think so, cause the ones that told me about it said was pretty serious, very dramatic, Sopranos level, bla bla bla(and yes, Sopranos has its comedy moments but you know what I mean), and I couldn't see any of that "drama" but I laughed tons with it 🤣🤣

its a bit of a "dramedy" but ultimately its still a drama
