I wish you had showed us how compressible/foldable this is. I travel with my 45 liter and normally just squeeze a drawstring back inside until I need it. Don’t want to walk around with 2 backpacks. Then when I go out for the day I pull the drawstring bag out and dump my stuff in there.

I had the same experience with the Ursa color. I disliked it at first, and it soon grew on me, and now I love it!

the wide plain webbing straps on the previous design definitely made this a super light [and packable!!] daypack option. however after several years of use, I can definitely see how the new padded straps are a hell of an upgrade. great review!

I recently got a Matador 16L daypack, but my daughter kept in Arizona, so this is just perfect to add to my TB collection, Synapse, Synik, briefcase and now this daypack…well I am certainly adding to my TB collection, BTW thanks for another excellent review, now I may have a harder time choosing colors!!! LOL…

HANDS DOWN one of the best backpacks I've ever had. I now have four daylight packs and couldn't be happier. Made in America, $100 and a modern sleek look its just amazing.

I already have a Luminary 15 and I love it but this one seems way simpler to pack. The Luminary is small enough though but I guess this is exactly designed for that packable travel use. The fact that you can even roll this down is a great plus. The Luminary can't be folded in any way and it's more than an inch thick when compressed to pack. I guess I'll be getting a Daylight anytime soon to upgrade my travel game. Great review, thanks, Lauren.

@@PackHacker2 I'm thinking Black 400 Halcyon with whatever liner they have at the moment, a bright one preferably.

I’ve had it on my wish list but I really think I might go with the Paragon cause it’s bigger, though, way more money.

If you really need a panel, there are several thicknesses of “thin” cutting boards you can trim down to fit. I’d try starting with the flexible ones from Ikea. They don’t provide padding, but tend to smooth out lumps.

Please review the SPEED LITE 17 by deuter its a similar size and weight with a solid back panel. It might be more comfortable to use day to day.
