Herschel looks very appealing as a “personal item” for long international flights, especially since the lack of a rigid back panel means it can be squished in from the sides to leave room under seat to stretch my legs. Using a simple accessory strap to help keep it from spreading wide again if the trick. It’s also useful on flights as a “pull out essentials” bag if a larger overhead bag gets gate checked. The trick is that it neither adds much weight nor eats into net luggage storage space. You assembled some interesting bags today!
