Brady brought this on himself - he knew his divorce had been a major point of public discussion. Did he expect everyone to politely avoid the subject for his kids' sake? In any case, if comics were to think that far ahead in terms of every second or third person removed who might be affected there'd be nothing to joke about.

I don't care about Tom because he signed up for it. However it was in poor taste to drag Gisele into it. Currently, Gisele is focused on the devastating flooding going on in her native Brazil. It was in poor taste to drag her into this as she didn't sign up to be roasted and she's no longer married to Tom. The kids could very well been hurt and humiliated by some of the commentary. Random people thinking the jokes were just fine are irrelevant when it comes down to it. It's also easy to make light of jokes that you're not on the receiving end of. People can make the jokes they want but they have to prepared to hear that someone may or may not appreciate said joke and won't excuse it away because it's "comedy". Comedy is subjective.

Words are powerful, you have to be careful how they are used. The jokes should have been limited to him. Dragging the mothers of his children into the roast was wrong. They have deal with the taunts of their peers. He should have apologized to the mothers and the children for the hurt caused.

Tom didn't even think about how it would effect his kids. A child's parent's relationship is part of the kids identity. As hard as the divorce was for the parents, its 100 times worse for the kids. When their parents divorced its like a part of the kids died. Their family was their whole world.
