Clarice Cliff was born in 1899 to Harry and Ann Cliff in Tunstall, England. At a young age she was a papier-mâché artist in the pottery industry. By age 13 Clarice worked as a gilder and later went on to study art at Burslem School. Later in life after developing her unique style and skills, Cliff continued her studies at The Royal College of Art. After a long successful career Cliff passed away in 1972 in Clayton, Staffordshire, England, age 73

Thank you, Charles, :) I love Tom's adventures. Believe it or not the teapot lid paperweights were a hit this year at the craft faire :) I wonder what he will come across next that will be inspiring:) Merry Christmas!

They are fun little gifts and a way to preserve a family piece when the Teapot or sugar bowl gets damaged :) Have a lovely day!

Hello Kathryn, I really enjoyed watching you craft, I would never have thought of using teapot lids as paperweights, what a neat idea, and a clever way of using up the ones left over from your birdhouses, I haven't done a thing since Sunday, I'm still recovering my energy levels are very low but I'll be back to my normal soon, the dolls house fairs have finished now until October/November time, so I have all summer to get some building done, we're going to see one of our Granddaughters on Thursday which will be fun and noisy lol, we share a birthday, she's so sweet and the oldest of my sons 3 children, the nice weather we had has turned cool again, back to wearing cardigans lol but it should warm back up at weekend, most of my roses are flowering which makes me happy, they are my favourite flower, one of my favourites is a thornless climber called Zephirine Drouhin its pink and full of flowers at the moment I can see it from my kitchen window it makes me smile everyday : ) , well that's enough waffling from me lol, I'm looking forward to your next video, Bye for now, take care, Diane x

Oh yes I love Clarice Cliff, I wish I could afford to have a piece, it's very expensive to buy these days, I had a bit of an idea to try and copy some in miniature in plain white pottery pieces, I might have to get some decent paint and try , most of my acrylics are just really cheap pound shop one's which are useless really for anything like that, well you've inspired me again :) bye for now x

Hello! Yess, rest up! You have a most wonderful birthday! I have been hoarding teapot and sugar bowl lids for a while. Tom is one of my very favourite mudlarkers and last spring he found one of my favourite things, a milk glass creams pot, which he struggles to leave behind, so I have a craft with milk glass cream pots. When I saw the teap0ot lid episode of his last month well of course, it meant a visit and a craft :) My grandchildren are spending the summer in Japan, so once I get the build frame finished, I can make Masako's gift as they will be back in August around her birthday. I will return to that video project in July-August.
