Have'nt seen him surf live since 1978 when we used to surf Newport and Avalon Beach, when he was visiting home between tournaments we would as average surfers hope to get inspiration from him but in truth we were in awe of his amazing talent. He is my all time favourite surfer above Mark Richards and Kelly he just seems to have a spellbinding quality when he's in the surf.

Despite their different sports, Carroll and Mike Tyson have a similar low and explosive and unpredictable style of attack...why the current surfers are dull by contrast
