I surely agree on your view that points out poor plot making the alien artificial intelligent which already understands all thing of humanity too easily deceived. Maybe the desire to show positive consequence of the film precedes the logical chain of the story

The AI wasnt able to decipher/understand "love" patterns of human beings therefore couldnt erase/replace them from the clones. Yes, the setup of a couple living above the clouds mansion and waiting for a retirement in yet still more heavenlike Saturn was good choice. The couple dont know the real enemy because they even dont know who themselves are .....is also good (and very much like today's World).

@@vatandas1542 I appreciate the in-universe explanation for the A.I.'s failures. I will presume you are correct on the writer's narrative for why the protagonists were able to triumph in the end. My position is that the writers were relying upon some concepts that I don't think very highly of. Water ice, for one, is widely available in our solar system. No need to fuel up at the angry hominid infested planet. The moon Europa, for example. Secondly, this A.I understands humans well enough to have defeated an entire motivated planet full of gung ho smart trained folk at our heights. It furthermore is not blinded by any inability to read our historical records and absorbed our ways of approaching problems. The Trojan Horse style attack being a legendary historic example. Their home above the clouds may have symbolic story value to the writers, but as an artifact of the AI, it speaks to something with a good grasp of human aesthetics. Furthermore, the lengths needed to redesign its own drones to be repaired in the sky home's repair garage and the aforementioned details of human writing worked into the deception are far deeper ploys than the humans attempted in their final plan. The triumphant destruction of such an overwhelming enemy was too easy. The power of the human heart not having been enough when there were billions of us. The other point I'll reiterate is my disappointment at having the initial scenario of an off world relocation of humanity being swapped for a bland repeat of the wasteland survivors trope. Both an overplayed and depressing scenario versus humanity which has made a home off the cradle world. An Earth being slowly restored while humanity recovers elsewhere is something I'd like to see. Whereas I've had my fill of that other scenario. Thank you for your counterpoint opinion. Have a great day.

There's a small, specific spot on the drones that basically blinds and destroys them if you hit it.. If you watch the scene where the humans first capture Jack, when they take out the 1st drone that came for him, their whole strategy revolves around getting a shot at that known weakspot..

@@cjperry2731And nobody bothered to tell the rest of the team who fire volley after volley at the pods and then get their butts vaporized. Only the hero gets to survive. (For a while.)

@@ronagoodwell2709 it was a surprise attack and everyone was taken off guard.. and not all the humans were soldiers, much less good marksmen.. Even in the scene I mentioned when they destroy the 1 drone who came for Jack, they flanked it on 2 sides and one shot at it to draw it's attention, while the other 2 aim for its weakspot.. the 1st shot at the weakspot missed, resulting in that person being vaporized.. During the surprise attack, the drones are zooming and zipping around the complex almost nonstop.. even jacks wife empties an entire magazine at a drones face, while Sykes fires one shot at its weakspot from behind.. Jack also fired many missed shots before he finally hit its weakspot, even though he was aiming for it.. and really, after all, Jack is literally the mechanic who repairs and works on the drones, OF COURSE he would know its weakspot..

Yes, the evil Putin m7st be stopped, the Russians have hundreds of military bases throughout the world along with thousands of troops. They illegally invaded Iraq, Libya and Syria as well as splitting up Yugoslavia, precipitating ethnic cleansing not seen for many years. In addition there have been the coups in Chile, Ukraine and Pakistan as well as the completely useless invation of Haiti and colonisation of Puerto Rico. Very bad people.
