I was surfing at Silver Strand about 10 years ago. I was waiting for a wave and noticed that the guy sitting next to me looked like Tom Curren. Once he took of on a left, I knew without a doubt it was TC. As great as he looks on film, I will never forget watching him throw hundreds of gallons of water in the air and flying out of unthinkable barrels.

Of all the surfers who have distinguished themselves, Occy and Curren are still my favorite to watch. They may not do airs, but no one can lean over on a rail like those two. Thanks for the clip.

I just recently viewed this and I replayed this several times. I loved this type of surfing. Jordy Smith reminds me of of this old school surfing. I love it!

More like: Brown Water vs. Clear Water. Most of the footage of Curren is on the Central Coast of California and Occy is in AUS or the tropics. Great old footage though.

Great clip, nice sound. I liked it. Both guys are unreal surfers...but Curren has the hardware (i.e. titles). Occy wishes he had 'em.
