If any of you have watched the movie ET, then you should know that ET touched Eliot to heal his finger when it got cut on the communications device that they built with a buzz-saw, this created a symbiotic bond, when Eliot came down with a cold or the flu, ET caught it and began to die, ET cut the bond to save his own life and save Eliot's because ET's life was on a decline. The joke here as sad as it is that I have to explain it, is that if ET touched Tom Hank's he would literally contract HIV.

Has nobody seen E.T Or Philadelphia?.. The joke and reference makes sense if you watch both the movies. E.T can cure disease but contracts it in the process, and Tom hanks character in Philly, was about a lawsuit from man contracting Aids in the late 80s and being discriminated against as a result. So hence the crossover in this joke. really shouldn't need to explain it lmao
