So the 'real' world asserts itself in the form of an impending parking ticket, lol. I loved Crass's stuff when I was 15, now I'm 55 and find myself still on the same, though different, wavelength. Thank you Penny Rimbaud, you've been a friend to my soul all my life x

Personally I was put off by the smug grin on the interviewers face and he didnt know how to engage a conversation with Penny. I met Penny a couple of times and I have to say he is a great conversationalists and very easy to approach and talk with.

I LOVE YOUR SPIRIT SO MUCH, JERRY!!! Your brilliance is just inspiring and so much appreciated (over the decades!!!). 💖 Thank you for your art and all you share to remind us that we are more than our currency. Furthermore, your writing is phenomenal. I’ve purchased and passed on SO many copies of Shibboleth. 💖 Your Twitter posts helped me through a time which was strictly shit. Thank you!!! 💕

On the leaflet enclosed in the Small Wonder version of Feeding Of The 5000,it said something about phoning Rough Trade up to talk to Crass,so that's what I did in early 1982 - the guy took my phone number and said he'd pass it on to Crass(Rough Trade were distributing Crass Records I think)and I thought, "Yeah,I bet you pass it on hahaha" Back then,I used to go out and get drunk on a Thursday and when I got back from the pub, my Dad was still awake(my first surprise) he then picked up a note he had placed near the telephone for me and began to read it, "Penny from Crass rang earlier to let you know that they're playing Ferryhill 101 Club on 30th April 1982" Picture this? I'm completely pissed and I'm trying to get my head around the fact that my Dad had just spoken to Penny Rimbaud from Crass - my mind wouldn't compute what I was hearing! I thought he must have gone through my record collection to play a prank on me,then I thought, why the fuck would he do that? Anyway,I found out he was telling the truth, when the tour dates came out (yes I went to the Ferryhill gig) It's not an everyday event, when your 55yo Dad has a chat with Penny Rimbaud! Cheers Penny, for choosing to ring, when I was out on the piss!

fuck ! Pen , you missed a trick there .. CRASS bread.. 'pay no more than 45p' a loaf with political , art wrappers we can then stick on the fridge with a CRASS fridge magnet.... please do it and we can get Waitrose to deliver it...there might even be a way using a metal stencil you put in with bread when you toast it so it makes the CRASS symbol on the toast !! ... Pen , shall we go on Dragon's Den with this ?...just for some anarcho fun ?

Whole interview no laughs no ģiggles just him born with a silver spoon in his mouth yabling on about his ego and a loaf of bread to a boring man with a lisp yawn yawn 🥱 😴. Violet from poison girls was smart and fun and had energy in abundance. R.I.P. Vi. ❤x

I value crass.. but yeh.. I think Penny's outlook as expressed here.. is seriously in denial of some fundamental realities. Writing a song and baking a loaf of bread could have some similarities from an extremely reductionist point of view, but they are fundamentally different. Especially if you labor to produce something of value.. the needs and intent are highly discriminate. Work entails sacrifice.. play does not.
