Too bad you had to base it off of this performance. It is far etter anywhere else. Ignore this turn of a performance and watch one of the other tours because this really doesn't hold a candle. The director slacked off big time.

@@trashcan1432 I agree though. It's not as tight as the real show, but also did they change the lines around to give the main guy more lines? In the original the gay guy sings all the lines about how bad being gay is, and that's the whole point. The self-loathing, self-policing adds to the dark humour. No one else is judging him, he's judging himself. But in this one, another elder sings the lines about how he has to crush the gay box. It completely changes the tone. Instead of being self-loathing and simultaneously lacking self-awareness, it's just a gay guy getting bullied. In the original he's telling elder Price how to deal with his issues but uses the gay example because he's actually talking about himself. That's funny. "No, no I'm not having gay thoughts". It doesn't work if someone else says it.

I liked this, but why was the role of Elder McKinley divided into the different parts? And other people were telling him not to have gay thoughts, instead of him telling himself that. Also, the "Crush it" part was directed at McKinley in this, not Price. That all probably sounded pretty critical.Sorry. I did like it though, a lot, but I was just wondering.

The fact that gay Mormon missionaries are a lot more common than you think is what makes this song so funny.

Literally the only criticism I have of this is that actual sister missionaries don't wear the same thing as the elders (although I guess I can see why this would be preferable from a costuming aspect). But other than that this was FANTASTIC.

It's a terrific performance. Is anyone else hung up on the fact there aren't female Mormon Missionaries?

There are actually sister missionaries. Instead of like for example "Brother Cunningham" it would be Sister Cunningham. There are just not as many.

ilovemichellephan656 The reason there are not as many females as males going on a mission is because it is mandatory for the boys and only voluntary for the girls, and also because the average Mormon girl's "mission", traditionally at least, is to get married as soon as possible and start cranking out new little Mormons.

The ideology brings me back to days while I was still a member of the faith. It was a real notion, that with will power and faith, you could 'turn off those feelings', as easy as turning off a light switch, and they even had an 'ad campaign' proclaiming that if you're depressed...'Just Bounce Back', like as if repeating this mantra actually solved chronic depression.
